At 26 years old a car with a 5.7-litre engine sounds the stuff of fantasy. Not daring to ring the insurer to suffer the muffled laugh as they relay the astronomical price who would dare even ask? But is it as expensive as first thought? This fresh-faced owner is running a 1989 C4 Corvette and paying less than £300 fully comp.
Starting off with a pretty good car history - a Porsche 924 Turbo and S - FelixP was after a manual C4 Corvette. And it happened to be a lot closer than he thought. Within three days, it was his. Just take a look at the amazing 80s digital dash with the rare six-speed manual and try not to turn green with envy.
Completely different to his 924s, the Corvette pulls hard in every gear and is still able to break traction in third with massive 275 section tyres all round. With very little needed to get the car right, OP is after some 315 section tyres (we'll guess third gear oversteer gets scary) and some go-faster bits to raise the lazy V8 from its slumber.
Congratulations FelixP - your C4 Corvette is our Reader's Car Of The Week. Check out the thread here
