There isn't long to be cross that Rolls-Royce has released so little on the new Dawn. Full details on the Wraith cabrio are due tomorrow so if you're not one for teasers then please check back then.
Even by the standards of pre-reveal mini releases, there is precious little Dawn info in Rolls-Royce's material. We know it will definitely, definitely be called Dawn, that there is a clock in the dash and the video shows, er, a woman diving into a pool. Right.
It gets worse: "Dawn is a beautiful new open-top motor car with a name that suggests the fresh opportunities that every new day holds - an awakening, an opening up of one's senses and a burst of sunshine." That's from CEO Torsten Muller-Otvos. Oh dear.
But ignoring the marketing spiel for just a minute, the prospect of an open Rolls-Royce Wraith is a fantastically alluring one. The 6.6-litre V12 is likely to be carried over unchanged but with outright dynamics taking a back seat compared to the Wraith for ultimate top-down cruising in the Dawn. Paupers buy the S-Class cabrio, right? The top will be fabric, as on the Phantom Drophead, but expect it to be lined with snow leopard fur or whatever material now has the best insulating qualities.
Prices are yet to be confirmed but £250,000 has been suggested. Hopefully we'll know tomorrow with the additional information and images that aren't of the ruddy clock.
