Everyone is familiar with the work of
Singer Vehicle Design
on reimagining Porsche 911s by now. But given how spectacular the results continue to be, we hope you'll excuse a quick story on its latest creation.
This is the 'Manchester' car, another Singer product headed for the UK. It's currently being shown at Salon Prive for the weekend before reaching its owner. Given the incredible response to the
911 Targa
shown at Goodwood, this 911 will surely bring in hoards of fans at Blenheim Palace.
It's the first car with the 4.0-litre Ed Pink engine in the UK, allied to a six-speed manual and limited-slip diff. The custom-valved Ohlins dampers and carbon panels, familiar from so many other reimaginations, also feature.
But it's the colour combination that's perhaps most intriguing. The paint is described as 'Wasabi' and evokes a real 70s vibe, matched inside by the 'Forest Green leather and custom leather-weave interior' weave. It's certainly distinctive and looks fantastic here in the LA sunshine; what do you reckon? How will it look in the UK?
So that's the latest from Singer, just as captivating as so many that have preceded it. If you want your own Porsche 911 reimagined by Singer, it quotes between eight and 10 months for the work. And hundreds of thousands of pounds. Back to dreaming then!
