pending R
version and now the Roadster the AMG GT range is looking to expand considerably in the coming months. The R has been out and about already and we've had
spy shots
of the Roadster out testing; ahead of what we'd anticipate would be a Paris show debut at the end of the month we've now got first official sight of the car in the shape of a suitably enigmatic video clip.
I spy, with my little eye...
Nope, doesn't show much. Best to consider it an opening gambit ahead of the usual pre-motor show hype with more pics and intel to follow. The basics are pretty much as we have already reported though; a fabric roof and - probably - representative
462hp 'regular'
510hp S versions
of the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. Given the GT shares much of its basic underpinnings with the old SLS expect much of what we said about
its roadster version
to carry over here too. Which is to say a pleasingly rigid structure and kerbweight several hundred kilos less than
the AMG SLs
you might otherwise consider cut from the same cloth.
Sounds good to us. As does that V8, which you'll be able to hear even more clearly with the roof stowed. More when we have it...
