Unfortunately, the PistonHeads Le Mans Classic pitstop has been cancelled! Staff have been moved from the designated spot. Fear not, goodie bags will be handed out at the Bleu Nord campsite instead!
Hot on the heels of one of the most dramatic Le Mans 24 races ever witnessed, fans of French-based endurance motorsport are in for another treat, as the biennial running of the Le Mans Classic is nearly upon us. On top of the usual six grids, spanning Le Mans entrants from 1923 right through to 1981, this year sees the first time Group C cars will run in the event, as 48 cars from that legendary era take to the track.
PistonHeads will have a strong presence, with our Bleu Nord campsite sold out yet again. However, following the incredible success of our Le Mans pit stop a fortnight ago, we will also be branching out once more to give all PHers the chance to share a bit of the love.
From 11am to 5pm on both Thursday July 7 AND Friday July 8, the PH team will be setting up camp at the Aire De Repos Joel Boisgard. We'll be offering all-comers a chance to rest and regroup before making the final push on to Le Mans, and giving out a few goodies and refreshments to boot. The services are about halfway from Alencon and Le Mans, between Junctions 20 and 21 on the A28 and the pit stop will be signposted too, so keep an eye out for some PH smileys as you approach!
All that remains is to reiterate our previous request to please take it steady on the way down to Le Mans - the Gendarmes have just as keen an eye for an E-Type as they do for an Exige! And of course finally to wish you all a pleasant journey, we hope to see as many of you as possible over the weekend be it at the Pit Stop or around the campsite!
