Wouldn't you know, there's been an overwhelmingly positive reaction to the confirmation of
a new TVR
. More so than initially expected in fact, meaning that TVR is bringing forward the date of inviting deposits. "We've been totally blown away by the reaction" says TVR's Operations Director John Chasey.
The last TVR to be sold new...
So if you're interested in the next TVR, due in 2017, the company will begin to accept £5,000 deposits from July 7. Detailed specifications are "to be established at a later stage." There's a further incentive for TVR fans though, with a discount for TVR Car Club members.
During July all TVR CC members who have been members for at least six months will be given the opportunity to place a £2,500 deposit. This year marks the club's 50th anniversary and the gesture is designed as a thank you for the "established individuals" who have "demonstrated continued enthusiasm and loyalty to the brand." Should be a few of them on here! TVR will also make a financial donation to the club for every deposit from a TVR CC member.
TVR Chairman Les Edgar says it's important "to reward those people who have been such enthusiastic ambassadors" for TVR. As well as the reduced deposit members are promised some of the early production units.
The next challenge faced - or at least one of them - is establishing a UK network of TVR Heritage and TVR Performance partners. TVR says most of the early cars will be delivered direct from the factory. More news when we have it!
