Lancia Fulvia Zagato Sport
"I wanted to start with something classic, special, and rare. These are handcrafted steel bodies from Zagato, built on top of the FWD Fulvia chassis and V4 engine that won the World Rally championship in 1972. This one has been restored and modified in a period correct manner, giving modern performance in that body and chassis. Just look at it! My car for blatting around the countryside when I just want to go for a drive on my own."
Lancia Delta Integrale HF Evo 1
Cost: £32,995
Balance: £27,055
Why I chose it: "It's an Integrale. A particularly nice Evo 1 version, in a fabulous, rare colour and with an unmarked and understated interior. I've always wanted one, so this had to be the four-wheel drive car for the £100K Garage. It might have outlandish arches and wings, and have point to point performance that will trouble modern machinery, but the rally roots mean it has sensible suspension travel and would be able to soak up the potholes in town and on the B-roads."
BMW M5 Touring
"The original plan was to fill this spot with a BMW i3 REX, but this M5 fits the budget and is so much more interesting! The performance is astonishing, it is bland enough to blend in yet stands out to those in the know and there's plenty of space for the family and some stuff (the bikes will have to go on the roof). The leftover money might even be enough to put some petrol in it! The spec is fantastic, and I even like the interior. Whether travelling distances, or shifting stuff very rapidly, I can't think of a better way to burn all that petrol! It might even be able to tow the Fulvia if I want to track it!"
