Granted, this is not the most timely or relevant video to Thursday's motoring news. It probably isn't the finest Delta Integrale video out there either but it's more than worthy of your attention for just a few minutes this afternoon.
Everyone who knows a little about rallying or indeed just cars recognises the Lancia Delta Integrale. Hopefully they'll know 037, Stratos and Fulvia too. The Delta is an icon built on great success and, well, why not celebrate it again right now?
This video is from the Group A era, the 1993 Tour de Corse to be specific. Should you prefer, there are of course gravel rallies, snow rallies, the Group B era and many more videos involving the Delta. It's very easy to spend (others may ignorantly see it as waste) a lot of time watching the boxy old Lancia do its WRC thing. The star drivers here are Carlos Sainz in a fantastic Repsol-liveried car and Andrea Aghini, Lancia having dropped its factory team at the end of 1992 and the cars campaigned by Jolly Club. It wasn't an especially successful season for the team but the driving here is still fairly spectacular.
