Back in December last year, PH drove the new
Mercedes-AMG E63 S 4Matic+
, the first all-wheel drive AMG E-Class to come to the UK. Previously, all models were rear-wheel drive and thankfully that preference wasn't lost with the fully variable 4Matic+ system. Oh and the fact that Drift mode allows the driver to push all 612hp to the rear-wheels for
plenty of drifts
First deliveries of the E63 AMG will start in June this year and prices for the three models are as follows; the 'standard' E63 with 571hp starts at £78,935, the E63 S with 612hp at £88,295 and the Edition 1 at £106,585.
The Edition 1 is based on the E63 S on 20-inch AMG cross-spoke wheels, some special paint called design Selenite Grey Magno paint and the AMG Night Package, which adds black detailing on the side sills, black exterior mirror housing and a black front splitter. Extra detailing is in Titanium Grey with some yellow contrast stitching on the seats.
If you get the inkling to take the most powerful Mercedes road car on track, both the Edition 1 and S are available with optional carbon ceramic brakes whilst the optional upgraded performance exhaust will enhance the sound of that twin-turbo V8.
