Much has been written on PH this week about the new world of fast Hondas, so it seemed time to celebrate one of the golden oldies. It's not exactly standard, as you might have guessed, but who's complaining when the modifications include even more VTEC power?
JeffC's CRX has a very interesting spec; we won't divulge all the details here but it's now running a Civic Type R K20 engine with custom parts machined by Jeff himself. And throttle bodies. Nice work! The power is believed to be around 260hp, which should be enough with just 850kg to shift.
The car is used competitively as well, Jeff taking part in Time Attack events at Croft and Oulton Park. With super short ratios in it - 8,900rpm in sixth is just over 130mph - the CRX is always shrieking away in the VTEC zone (yo) and travelling jolly fast too. It looks great fun.
So congratulations Jeff on a fantastic VTEC track project; it's our Reader's Car of the Week!
