Japanese Domestic Market cars are a big deal on PistonHeads; our editor
owns two
! Through a combination of Gran Turismo and the Internet, a whole generation of enthusiasts have been introduced to a previously unknown world of Spec Cs, Ralliarts and S-Specials.
And Type Rs, of course. While the UK market received the first DC2 Type R back in the 90s, it was denied its DC5 replacement because of fears it would cannibalise sales of the then-new EP3 Civic Type R. Many will tell you the older 'Teg is the more rewarding drive, but these things are all relative - a DC5 will still a fantastic car. And to keep them from UK showrooms does seem a shame.
Still, on the flipside, it makes seeing them in the UK even more of an occasion now! PHer 'designforlife' purchased this lovely DC5 Integra as a New Year present to himself earlier this month, travelling down to Somerset from St Albans to buy it from a dealer in fact reluctant to let it go. With just 63,000 miles from new and one owner in the UK, it looks like an excellent example.
But enough from us; over to this very lucky PHer for more details and pics. Congratulations 'designforlife', your Honda Integra Type R is PH's Reader's Car of the Week!
