Just two rounds into the new WRC season and the FIA is wrapping it in safety tape, cancelling stages at the Swedish rally on
The new sense of speed is a little too much for the FIA, with cars said to be exceeding the guideline 80mph average it would like to see on competitive stages. Rather going against what we were hearing last year when the new rules were said to encourage faster, more spectacular rally cars.
So let's use Pic Of The Week to celebrate that speed while it's still permitted. This shot is of Jari Matti-Latvala on his way to Toyota's first WRC victory in 18 years in the Yaris rally car's second ever competitive event. This following a second on the previous round at Monte Carlo.
