This tweaked Porsche 997 GT2 Biturbo from German firm Wimmer Rennsporttechnik Solingen apparently marks a new effort to take on bigger tuning names like Sportec and Techart.
Wimmer’s GT2 package replaces the standard-fit turbos with their own ‘optimised’ units, while other mods include re-profiled camshafts, revised head and a new ECU. With a new hand-made exhaust with free-flow cats thrown in, the firm reckons its converted GT2 benefits from a heady 680bhp – up 150bhp on the numbers for the already potent standard machine.
The result, it is claimed, is a 0-62mph time of 3.4secs and a blistering 221mph maximum. A new sports clutch is included to help handle the monster output.
There’s some minor visual tweakery, with carbon mirrors and rear lip spoiler, and the chassis features (unspecified) H&R components according to Wimmer’s press release.
Tyres are Dunlop Sport-Maxx GTs, in 235/30-20 and 325/25-20 sizes fitted to Sportec wheels.
The cost? A mere 30,000 Euros, plus that spare 997 GT2 that’s taking up space on your drive.
