It's musical chairs time again in the VW Group with a shift around at the upper echelons of Bentley management.
Schreiber takes 'leading position in the VW Group'
Wolfgang Durheimer, who most recently has been General Representative of the VW Group responsible for motorsport, will become Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors as of June 1. He replaces his fellow Wolfgang, Dr Schreiber, at the top of Bentley. Seemingly because this isn't quite enough to keep Wolfgang D occupied, he has also been appointed to the VW Group committees responsible for the American and Chinese markets.
Durheimer of course has been involved with Bentley previously, occupying a joint CEO role with Bugatti in 2011. Following that he was on the management board at Audi, responsible for technical development.
Schreiber's new role is less defined at present, being described only as a 'leading position within the Volkswagen Group'. Whatever the job will be, he brings experience from his role at Bentley as well as eight years as head of Bugatti development from 2003-2011. Schreiber has also been on VW's commercial vehicle board since 2006.
