It's not often a car like the
Bentley Continental GT Speed
is overawed but Scotland did just that over two days this week. From Loch Lomond over to the west coast and then down to Campbeltown for the high speed runs featured some of the most beautiful scenery, breathtaking views and absorbing roads. There's a Dream Drive being written, for sure.
And moreover, it was one of those rare cases where the roads seemed to match the car. The Speed wasn't at its best in the narrower sections but winding along the coast, with long straights connected by gently arcing curves, it couldn't have felt more at home.
This week's POTW should give you some idea of the special roads to be found in Scotland. Being in somewhere so remote they're relatively empty too, bar the occasional caravan-towing tourist. A flight to Glasgow (with a rental car at the end) never seemed so appealing!
