The Goodwood Revival often feels like the event that marks the end of summer. The last motorsport spectacular before we get into show season and the cooler months. It was another fantastic event and we've of course been discussing it at length this week.
But there's plenty more as well. PH has at last driven the new Mustang, we've welcomed a new Hero to the ranks and tested a racing McLaren too. See it all below!
Another successful racing weekend for Chris!
Hopefully you caught some of the 2014 Revival coverage through the PH live stream. If not, there's plenty to enjoy in written form. Harris competed
in two races
but also left with some fresh
opinions on oversteer
BRM V16
also made an appearance on the motor circuit, a couple of laps we had to share. Finally, don't forget to check out the results from
Bonhams' Revival sale
. Best not to look if you think air-cooled Porsches are overpriced…
Bringing our motorsport coverage back right up to date, Dale drove the McLaren 650S Sprint at Donington. And yes, there's a race report coming next week! Dan has decided to leave his burgeoning racing career to MX-5s at Tsukuba for now.
There's more too. For fans of the Prancing Horse last weekend's Ferrari Racing Days Sunday Service was a must visit. Motorsport doesn't get much better than a grid of Ferraris, does it? The inaugural Formula E season began with controversy, and there was a surprise at the MotoGP as well.
See, it's not all supercars and sideways
Back away from the racetrack, we've spent the week testing a hot hatch that feels right at home on a challenging B-road. By, er, taking it to a race track. But whether at Brands Hatch or on the road the
Renaultsport Megane R26.R
is sublime, so much so that we dedicated
POTW
But we're not all motorsport and track day heroes. On a more relaxed note both the Mercedes SL400 and non-S Audi TTs have been driven, plus Bentley has released spec details of the Mulsanne Speed.
The biggest drive story of this week must be the new Ford Mustang. We've only driven the Ecoboost four-cylinder for now, with the V8 review coming soon but the initial signs augur well for the 5.0-litre flagship. Or you go one step further with a previous-gen GT500 of course.
Yep, it's going to be hard to replace this
We're always flicking through auction catalogues, right? This week's
Under The Hammer
auction preview featured some very tasty German lots being sold soon and a few oddities too.
But if want a curio, how about a Ferrari 348 with a V12? This Enzo prototype is up for sale in Germany and some of you may recognise it…
It was a sad week on the PH Fleet with the departure of Dan's C63 507 estate. But you'll see it went out in style and we invited a few PHers along to celebrate the car too. At the other end of the PH Fleet desirability scale, Clio RS 200 Turbo is still failing to win Danny over.
Finally, there's plenty to catch up on with our regular features. Shed's found a slinky Supra, two more PHers have made their £100K classifieds choices (Wednesday here and Friday here) and our Carpooler is living his Toyota WRC dream. More next week!
