Buying a turn-key racecar sits high on many lottery-win wishlists, and here are two very strong candidates for when - as a wise man once put it - your balls turn lucky.
LMP pace for just over £100K says Radical
Radical has been making naffing fast buy-and-fly racecars for years, but the new SR8 RSX - recently unveiled in Barcelona - is the quickest of the lot. It's powered by an uprated 3.0-litre version of the company's established, and unique V8, which is basically formed from two four-cylinder Suzuki motorbike engines. This revs to 10,500rpm and delivers a claimed 440hp - against the SR8's 860kg mass that works out as a power to weight ratio of 558hp per tonne. Or plenty. There's now a seven-speed sequential gearbox transferring power to the rear wheels, while aerodynamic upgrades and that vast rear wing deliver up to 900kg of downforce.
You'll be able to enter Radical's own one-make Master championship, or certain other race series. And if you fancy it the cost will be £109,950 before VAT - or £131,940 in the UK. The engine has a warranty for 40 hours use, which will be enough for a whole season of racing, too.
RSX is a much-updated take on existing SR3
A bit too much? Radical has another new model, an RSX version of the smaller SR3. We're told the SR3 has become the most successful customer racecar of all time, with 900 having been sold in the last 12 years. The RSX has a 252hp four-cylinder Suzuki engine that delivers peak power at 9,500rpm, and it weighs as little as 570kg, depending on exact spec. It's eligible for various Radical championships and will cost £80,350 inclusive of VAT and a 45-hour engine warranty. A clearly chuffed man from Radical told us there has already been "a steady stream of orders" for both cars and a strong grid confirmed for the 2015 Masters championship.
