Jaguar has revealed a new officially-backed race series for some of its iconic pre-1966 models. There will be five races in 2015, with four set to be held in the UK and one at a 'major Continental European' circuit.

Eligible models will include the C-Type, D-Type, Mk1 and Mk2 saloons, the XK series and earlier E-Types, all of which are already very well represented in historic racing events like the Goodwood Revival. The series will be run by the Historic Sports Car Club, which previously ran the Jaguar E-Type Challenge.
"A single-marque race series will be an exciting addition to our plans for next year, and I look forward to meeting privateer teams that want to race Jaguar heritage sports and saloon cars in 2015," said Derek Weale, JLR Heritage's Business Director, in an official statement.
Other than that, details are light. We look forward to finding out more.
