Porsche 968 Sport Midnight Blue 95 (M) (1995)

This is an excellent example of the 968 Sport in the desirable Midnight Blue with black trim.

The Sport was a variant of the 968 only sold in the UK market. It is identical to the 968 Club Sport except for the addition of rear seats, electric windows and electric boot release. The chassis and running gear is identical to the Club Sport and it has a chassis number sequential to the Club Sport. There were 304 manufactured and allowing for cars written off in the last 13 years, there are probably around 200-250 now left. I have never seen another Midnight Blue Sport.

Unlike most 968's which have many owners, this is a car with just three previous owners. I have owned the car for the past 5 years and I am the PCGB 968 register secretary.

The mileage is 127k and reflects an average of around 12,000 miles a year. I have used the car regularly for my daily commute to work.

There is a thick history file detailing service details with previous invoices. In the past five years I have maintained this 968 to a very high mechanical and cosmetic standard.

A lot of the work has been featured in 911 & Porsche World magazine as the car is one of their running report cars I am a bit obsessive when it comes to my cars and spare no expense!

In the last 20k miles I have had.

New cambelts, chains, tensioners, pads and rollers and ancillary parts.

Cylinder Head re-build inc polish and porting +new exhaust valves and guides. (All work carried out by Mike Bainbridge)

New Koni Adjustable Shock absorbers.

M030 Roll Bars front and rear + new bushes.

All Porsches of this generation suffered from brake calliper plate lift. I replaced the front callipers with the larger M030 calipers and fitted, Goodridge stainless steel brake hoses and AP racing brake fluid.

Oil change every 3k

New clutch in the last 5000 miles.

The tyres are all good and the car is running genuine Porsche Sport classic design wheels.

Tax and MOT until May 2010.

HPI clear, I have no problem with a mechanical inspection.
The car is fitted with a very rare Tech art front splitter which enhances the good looks of the car.

The interior is slightly different from the sport in that I have fitted Lux door cards so that I could fit better speakers than the original cards permitted. I have also got Porsche heated leather electric sports seats fitted which are far more comfortable than the original sport seats.

This car should give trouble free and enjoyable motoring for many years to come. It drives like a car half its age and handles far better than most other cars on the road.

There may be cheaper 968's available but you could well spend lots on getting a cheaper car right. This car is a genuine example with everything sorted and is a desirable model in a rare colour.
