RENAULT CLIO WILLIAMS RALLY CAR (MSA LOG BOOKED &a (1998)Fully MSA log booked Renault Clio Williams with large tyre & spares package including stripped non sun roof Willams 2 shell complete with V5 and PIAA Lamp Pod with uprated bulbs
General Information: The car was originally built by the factory to race in the 'Clio Cup'. It was registered in 1996 – but is on a Q plate as was never road registered due to the fact it was a race car. The previous owner bought the car in October 2000 and ran it for a year with the original 16v engine before converting it (for the 2002 season) to the full Williams 2 litre spec. The car has competed in the National Tarmac championship ever year since and won the N3 class for four years and in 2002 it won the Formula two championship. We ran the car in the Northern Tarmac Championship this year and the car set some impressive stage times When we purchased the car un be known to us a few of the parts such as drive shafts and engine mounts were worn resulting in us not finishing our first few events, therefore many of the parts have either been replaced or serviced and reliability is now spot on. At the same time we also rubbed down the metal beneath the front and rear wings, under the arches, the subframe and frount rad mounts etc then repainted with black stone chip The Body/Shell: The body work is in good condition for a competition car of this age and has no major marks or dents though it is a rally car so not perfect and the floor/underneath has the usual lumps and bumps. The shell is seam welded with a 10 point bolt in Devil cage – and is straight (full geometry sheets to prove). It has full FIA spec safety equipment. Mandatory pull cables for extinguisher and electric cutt off's both inside and outside the car. In date till 2015 Ricco Racing 6 point 3" harnesses with aircraft style buckle (Not the ones in the pictures as the date expired on those last year, in date till 2011 Sparco seats, 4 litre plumbed in 4 nozzle fire extinguisher system plus 1.75 hand held. Alloy sump guard and Renault Sport Grp N fibre glass tank guard. Aluminium strut brace, suede steering wheel. Renaultsport Group N engine mounts with additional (homologated) front gearbox mount. Engine: New Williams (F7R) engine (in 2002), fitted with recently serviced K&N air filter with cold air feed, Cat is removed, 4 branch manifold to 58mm pipe with single rear box. The car runs the proper works Group N chip, which ignores the Lambda sensor and sets a 'soft' rev limit at 7,200rpm. Fuel pressure valve is set to 3 bar. Magnicore 8.5 mm HT leads. Engine has had regular oil and filter changes (reciepts to prove) The above coupled with the cars light weight makes for a quick and torquey motor. Gearbox: Uprated Williams JC5 5 speed close ratio synchro gearbox which has had regular fluid chages (reciepts to prove) with Helix 4 blade cerametalic paddle clutch. Renaultsport front and rear wheel bearings. New and uprated Renaultsport (heavy duty) drive shafts from R Sport to combat previous drive shaft failures. One event old Grp A wheel Studs all round Suspension: Suspension – Freshly serviced Genuine Renault Sport Grp N Tarmac Bilsteins Coil Overs (Adjustable ride height) all round, Replated legs, all aluminumhas been freshly powder coated, all seals, fluids and bushes have been replaced. Comes complete with different spring spare stiffer springs. Rears are again also genuine Renault Sport Grp N and are fitted with schrader valves for re-gassing. The suspension works really well on this car I have footage of a recent track day at Cadwell park with me holding off my mates far more powerful Civic Type R running an LSD and full slicks The bottom arms have just been stripped re-painted had new bottom ball joints fitted and are modified to produce additional castor (4.5 degrees positive) and the struts have been modified to provide 1.5 degrees negative camber. Depending on what you intend to do with the car I can provide brand new fully adjustable AVO's ideal for smooth tarmac/track days etc, these would either extra or as an alternative to the Bilsteins All front bushes have just been repalced and are motorsport spec Powerflex. Top mounts have rose joints fitted in Group N rubber mounts. Hydraulic power steering. Rear axle has roller bearings fitted instead of rubber bushes to provide true location. A 4 bar Torsion bar system allows for change of spring rates and roll bar rate. Rear dampers are rose jointed. I have spec sheets with geometry settings for all the rallies entered which cover most type of tarmac events from bumpy Irish closed roads to smooth airfields and everything in between Brakes: For a 'standard ish' set up the car stops brilliantly on one event old 259 x 20mm vented Drilled/Grooved front discs and Mintex M1166 pads and 238 x 8mm solid rears with two rallies old Mintex M1144 pads. Brake lines are inside the car, all flexi pipes are Aeroquip. Bias valve located inside the cockpit. Electrics/Interior: The car was rewired by the previous owner who was an Auto Electrician by trade and has the fuse boxes and ECU relocated inside the car. Head lights are relayed and wiring is in place for the PIAA light pod. Terratrip 303 rally trip computer with remote, push button start and all important instruction booklet in PDF format, map light, CB radio, potti plugs are all fitted. Carbon effect door cards with jumbo Don Barrow door pocket and pen clips. Ralloy two tier spare wheel post. A new 90 amp alternator and starter were fitted with the Williams engine.
