Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante (NaNGBP)

In September l967 the Aston Martin DBS V8 was announced, production commencing he following April. With its four overhead camshafts and Bosch electronic fuel] injection, the 5,340cc V8 produced an impressive 320bhp at 5,000rpm and3601b ft; the resultant 160mph plus performance was nothing short of staggering in 1970. After David Brown sold Aston Martin in February 1972 the DBS V8 was replaced by the Series 2 model, now simply called the Aston Martin V8. Gone were the four headlamps and slatted grille, in their place a black mesh grille flanked by single headlamps; mechanical changes were limited to electronic ignition and standard air conditioning. August 1973 saw the Series 3 arrive with quadruple Weber carburettors, larger bonnet bulge, improved seats and central locking; power rose to 304bhp in June 1977. Later that year the mighty V8 Vantage was launched, boasting special camshafts, larger valves and Weber IDA carburettors; with 380bhp at 6,000rpm it provided 0-60 and 0-100mph in 5.3 and 12.7 seconds respectively and a 170mph maximum. The latter necessitated some aerodynamic aids and the V8 Vantage thus sported a deep front air dam, bolt-on boot spoiler, blanked off radiator grille, Perspex headlamp covers and bonnet air scoop. Suspension was also stiffened, Koni dampers fitted and tyres widened. Finished in the most attractive colour combination of Dark Blue Inmont with Magnolia Hide piped with dark blue stitching, F968NPG has been used sparingly. Having only covered 32,000 miles, it has been serviced and maintained by numerous marque specialists including Ian Mason, Richard Stewart and Aston Engineering. In addition, the original engine was replaced by the Aston Martin factory with an upgraded 6.3 litre unit from an Aston Martin Zagato. This extremely rare example is described by the vendor as being in very good condition throughout. Coming complete with a new MoT test certificate, tracker, immobilizer, numerous bills and receipts, this Aston Martin should be considered as a cornerstone car to any serious collection.<br>Estimate: £70,000 - £80,000<br>Offered for sale by auction at the Coys Spirit of Motoring sale at Ascot Racecourse on 3rd October 2009.
DB5 Ogle Saloon to Vantage Spec (NaNGBP)

We are delighted to once again be able to offer to the market this unique DB5 Saloon, having undergone a "body off chassis" 3 year restoration, which was carried out by Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance winning restorers Spray Tec Restorations and Bodylines Specialist Panel Beaters. This motor car was used by Ogle Design Ltd to show the factory their thoughts on how the interior of the DB6 could have looked. These suggestions included a completely new layout of the dashboard and glove compartment, addition of a new centre console, central opening armrest (hinged at the rear) and chrome plated ashtray. The seating design was simpler, complete with a large "V" pattern – which was adopted on the DB6, redesigned interior door panels, complete with a new interior door release handle. The trim panels to the rear parcel shelf also differed from the DB5. The car is now finished in Silver Birch Metallic with Black Hide Interior Trim and correct Grey Headlining. The engine has been rebuilt by R.S. Williams Ltd to 4.2 Litre Vantage Specification and the car benefits from having a R.S.W. Ride and Handling Package fitted. New Borrani Wheels and 3 Eared Spinners have also been fitted. Other subtle enhancements include the installation of Air Conditioning, a new albeit period looking Becker Mexico Radio/Navigation System – which also incorporates Bluetooth Telephone Preparation. This car had remained in store in Northern Europe for the best part of 20 years, prior to it being returned to the United Kingdom, where it has been restored. She recently amde an appearance at the AMOC Concours, which was held at Waddesdon Manor and came second in class. Now on display at our Surrey Showroom. This car is not to be confused with a standard DB5 Saloon, as it is the only one ever produced!

Aston Martin DB6 (NaNGBP)

The DB6 marked Aston Martin's first real departure in body shape from a design that appeared as the DB4 in 1958. The DB5 that followed was a truly beautiful car with impressive performance, but Aston Martin felt that a wider market required increased front and rear leg room, always a criticism of the DB4/DB5. In order to achieve this the platform chassis was lengthened, increasing wheelbase by almost four inches. Like the DB4/DB5, the DB6 used the Superleggera method of construction by Touring of Milan whereby aluminium body panels were attached to a lightweight steel tube frame, but the DB6's extended rear necessitated a more rigid design using folding sheet metal frames. Power was provided by the DB5's 3,995cc twin overhead camshaft, straight six engine developing 282bhp at 5,550rpm; transmission remained a ZF five speed. Suspension was also the same as for the DB5, i.e. independent at the front via coil spring and wishbone, with a live coil sprung rear axle located by Watt linkage and parallel trailing arms. Brakes were servo-assisted discs all round. This particular DB6 is an example of the more practical and last of the immortal DB series Astons has been in the current ownership of a leading academic over the last two decades. The car presents in lovely original order throughout and boasts a particularly well-preserved original interior, which does not require any remedial repair work to retain its charming âEuroœrolling gentlemanâEuro™s clubâEuro appearance. Equally, and as one of the premier GT cars of its time, the car retains its original manual transmission. The DB6 was the first Aston Martin to be optionally equipped with automatic, whereas this example still holds the ability to thrill a spirited driver. Purchased by the vendor directly in the UK a number of years ago, this is a very capable and usable example, with the added benefit of being a genuine four-seater. The car still retains its UK V5 registration document, and has seen genuine regular and reliable use in recent times.

Aston Martin DB5 (NaNGBP)

To many observers the Aston Martin DB5 is the epitome of-the company's models during the David Brown era, boasting both beauty and refined high performance. It is also perhaps the best known Aston Martin in the world, having starred in the James Bond films Goldfinger and Thunderball, complete with machine guns, ejector seats and other gadgetry. In evolutionary terms the DB5 is a Series V DB4 , but with a 4.0 rather than 3.7 litre engine, its coachwork embodying detail changes; it thus featured similar stunning styling from Touring of Milan, incorporating DB4 GT-style faired-in headlamps, with aluminium panels attached to a lightweight steel frame using Touring's Superleggera method of construction. Underneath the platform chassis used independent coil spring wishbone front suspension with a live rear axle located by Watt linkage and parallel trailing arms. Disc brakes were fitted all round, but the Girling items of the DB4 GT rather than the DB4's Dunlop discs. The Tadek Marek designed twin overhead camshaft, straight six engine was enlarged to 3,995cc from the DB4's 3,670cc, power rising to 282bhp at 5,500rpm in standard trim; a 314bhp Vantage option, using triple Weber rather than SU carburettors, higher compression ratio and a different camshaft profile, was a rare and desirable option. Initially, the all-alloy engine was mated to a four-speed David Brown gearbox with overdrive but later models featured a five-speed ZF unit; automatic transmission was also offered for the first time. Other changes over the DB4 included an alternator, four exhaust silencers rather than two, electric windows and variable intensity brake lights. Following its launch in July 1963 in saloon and convertible forms the DB5 received much praise, not least for its performance. A maximum of 148mph in standard trim, allied to 0-60 and 0-100mph in 7.1 and 16.9 seconds respectively, made the DB5 one of the fastest cars available and a match for the very best from Europe. Its production, however, was fairly short-lived, ending in September 1965 after 1,021 had been made; of these only 123 were Convertibles while just 65 had the Vantage engine. First registered in 1965, DB5/2225/R is described by its current owner as being in good condition throughout. Records dating back from 1968 onwards show work carried out by well known Aston Martin specialists and include photographic evidence of the carâEuro™s restoration in the early 1980s. Having had only five registered owners and complete with reproduction handbook, V5 registration document, MoT test certificate, road fund licence and numerous documents detailing GBW652CâEuro™s history, this is a highly attractive and hugely desirable example of one of the most collectible of Aston Martins ever produced.

Aston Martin Lagonda LHD (25,000GBP)

Red with Cream leather One of 645 examples Registration number AML IIT Chassis number SCFDL0154FTL13439 Engine number V/580/3439 Aston Martin's periodic revival of the Lagonda name saw it applied to a stretched, four-door AM V8 in the mid 1970s, a mere handful of which was constructed. When the concept re-emerged, it was the sensation of the 1976 London Motor Show. Clothed in striking 'razor-edge' bodywork designed by William Towns - the man responsible for the DBS - the new Lagonda saloon used the same long-wheelbase V8 chassis as its immediate predecessor, while breaking new ground in terms of electronic instrumentation and switchgear. Problems with the latter would delay production until April 1978, by which time a less radical design had been adopted. Rear view The interior though, was every bit as luxurious as the exterior was futuristic, featuring selected Connolly hides, Wilton carpeting and walnut veneer, all hand-finished by skilled craftsmen in the best Aston Martin tradition. The Lagonda continued in production until May 1990 by which time a total of 645 had been built. Even today, over 30 years after its sensational debut, there are few cars that can match the visual presence of the Aston Martin Lagonda. Engine view In the Lagonda, Aston's well-proven 5.3-litre V8 employed a quartet of twin-choke Weber 42DCNF carburettors and produced a maximum of 280bhp at 5,000rpm with 320lb/ft of torque available lower down the range. A Chrysler Torqueflite automatic gearbox was the standard transmission. More than 17' long, 6' wide and weighing two tons, the Lagonda was an imposing sight from any angle, and proved capable of racing to 60mph in 7.9 seconds on its way to a top speed of 145mph REG SUBJECT TO NEGOTIATIONwww.decamotorsinternational.com

1992 Aston Martin Virage (NaNGBP)

With less than three years between conception and display, the Virage was truly a miracle case for Aston Martin Lagonda. In 1986 A.M.L had a two door Lagonda development car on the road and had also announced a design competition for budding Aston Martin designers. The winners, Ken Greenly and John Heffernan, had created a large, modern GT - with an evolutionary link straight back to the DB4. Reeves Callaway in the US reworked the 5.3 litre V8 engine with four valves per cylinder, Weber fuel injection, a clean exhaust and an output of 330 bhp. Shown at the 1988 Birmingham Motor Show in Coupe form, with first deliveries in 1990, the sensational new Virage re-stated its forerunner's muscular looks in the modern idiom, slightly narrower but with increased interior space. With 330bhp, a top speed approaching 160mph was possible and 60mph in under 7 seconds. The Virage has a look of Menace, even when stationery. It sets new standards in speed and comfort. You will not find another car of this capability with such bespoke luxury. The Virage represents excellent value for money and remains a very usable car. This example is the facelifted model introduced in 1992, after many improvements and refinements were incorporated which completely transformed reliability and driveability. This car was supplied new by Aston dealer Reg Vardy in Tyne and Wear on the 31st March 1992. They maintained the car for a few years before passing Works Service for servicing in 1996 and 1997, and by June 1997 the car had covered only 10,000 miles. The previous owner purchased the Aston in 2001, after which he used the car frequently for the first couple of years of ownership, but in recent years the car has been carefully stored, and as a result total mileage has only risen to a still low 40,000 miles. The car has recently been checked over by Aston Martin Service in London and it has a current MoT test certificate. Described as being in very good and completely original order, the car comes with service invoices, tools and all books including a stamped service book.£14,000-£18,000This car, along with many other, is to be offered at auction on the 1st December 2009.
V8 Lagonda Saloon - Series 1 & 7.0 Litre Engi (349,995GBP)

We are delighted to be able to offer this stunning and very rare Lagonda to the market. Now finished in Cumberland Grey with Rolls-Royce Wildberry Hide, carpeting and Burr Walnut Veneers. In 1972, Aston Martin was sold by Sir David Brown and passed into the hands of Company Developments, a Midlands based Property Company. After David Browns four door prototype, MP230, it was to be another five years, 1974, before the Lagonda was available for the public to buy (or anyone with £14,000 to spend). The first car was for the use of the then Chairman, William Wilson. Unfortunately the Middle East oil crisis and other economic problems meant that the market for a 160 mph super saloon was small. So small was the market that only seven of these cars were ever built. A sad end for a wonderful and very special motor car. The production car featured a unique inverted horse shoe grille instead of the DBS style of the prototype. This example was displayed at the 1974 London Motor Show Car, held at Earls Court. This automatic example was sent to Spray Tec Restorations in 2002 and underwent a major refurbishment program. It benefited from a visit to Bodylines Specialist Panel Beaters who fabricated a new ""Osca India"" Style wings and boot lid, as well as a later style bonnet. It should be noted that any corrosion and rot was dealt with at this time. Once this work was complete the car was returned to Spray Tec, where it received a bare metal respray, along with a complete interior retrim. The car was finished to what can only be described as Concours and has been looked after since by our friends at Aston Martin Works Service, who in 2004 carried a major mechanical overhaul including setting up the suspension and replacing parts where required and overhauling the steering rack. Annual maintenance has been carried out by them since. This example is also equipped with a concealed GSM Motorola Telephone - complete with handset to rear centre armrest for use by rear passengers, Becker Navigation System, Uprated Audio System and 6 Disc CD Autochanger, Heated Front Seating, Remote Central Locking, Rear Reading Lights, Rear Seat Belts.

We are delighted to be able to offer sale this stunning and rare V8 Vantage Volante Manual. This motor car was constructed by Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd, Newport Pagnell, in 1988 to the special order of the McCaig brothers, Patrons of the Ecurie Ecosse (Scottish) Racing Team. Of these 26 cars, three were built to a special body specification which incorporated the Vantage's spoilered boot lid and blanked front grille (which on this car has been replaced with the more traditional mesh grille). Now finished in Welsh Green (dark green) with a new Dark Green Mohair Hood and a Tan Hide Interior piped in Dark Green with Green Carpeting bound in Tan Hide. Specification includes both Fog and Driving Lights, Sports Exhaust System, 16" Ronal Alloy Wheels, Foot Rest to Passenger Foot Well, Remote Alarm System with Central Locking, Power Hood.
"Living Daylights" V8 Saloon (140,000GBP)

We are delighted to be able to offer for sale this stunning and quite possibly unique V8 Saloon to Vantage Specification. First registered in March 1985, this example was purchased by its former keeper via a Bonham's Auction held at Works Service and in late 2002/early 2003 its new keeper sent the car to Aston Martin Works Service at Newport Pagnell and gave them the brief to create a very authentic copy of the "Winterised" Aston Martin V8 Saloon, which was driven by 007 (Timothy Dalton) in the James Bond Film – The Living Daylights. The film used both a Volante and a Saloon, the later of which was the winterised version of the Volante, which of course was not possible in the real world, but made possible in the movie (a copy of which is included). Works carried out by AM Works Service included, but was not limited to removing the engine and rebuilding to Full Vantage "580" X Pack Specification – including being modified to run on unleaded fuel, removing the original automatic gearbox and replacing with a 5 speed manual gearbox with a 3.54:1 ratio hypoid assembly. Other areas that were overhauled included the cooling, braking and electrical systems. The suspension system was uprated to Vantage Specification and new 16" Ronal Alloy Wheels were fitted. The interior was removed, its veneer panels refinished and a new surround for the gear lever was made, the headlining was removed and a new Webasto Roof was installed, with grey hide headlining. All interior and luggage compartment carpeting was renewed. New front and rear windscreens were also fitted. The exterior of car was striped to bare metal and new front and rear flared wing panels were produced and any corroded areas were repaired at this time. The exterior was then painted in the correct colour – Cumberland Grey. To complete the appearance of the car a set of cosmetic Ski's were produced by q branch at Works Service, as well as a dummy rear rocket booster, which can fitted to the car when not in use or on display! The car is also supplied with the original number used on the car in the film – B549 WUU! It is also supplied a comprehensive history file detailing all the works that have been carried out, including the original service voucher booklet and owner's manual. The car has covered a total of 65,000 Miles from new and has had a total of 5 Keepers (two of which were the previous owner – it was registered in his name and his company name). The project cost over £134,000.00 to complete and it should be noted that this cost did not include the donor car and we are sure that if such project were to entered into today, the cost would be considerably more! It has to said that apart from being a real head turner, this car is fabulous to drive and is presented in stunning condition and will be serviced by its creators before being handed over to its new keeper.
