New V-Storm to be unveiled at PistonHeads Show

Now in its third year, the 2010 PistonHeads Show is already attracting attention, as sports car constructor SDR will be unveiling its new V-Storm car to the public at the NEC, Birmingham on 14-17 January 2010.

The culmination of a project that was first announced at the 2009 show, the new SDR V-Storm features a unique exposed chassis design, and is powered by a mid-mounted Subaru STI engine. Power output is expected to be 300bhp, and weighing only 750kg, it will deliver a 0-60mph time of just over three seconds, as well as a top speed close to 165mph.

In stark contrast to many of its trackday-market rivals, the V-Storm even has three seats, making it surprisingly practical, as well as fun to drive.

"The PistonHeads Show is an important event for us, as we seek to raise our profile in the mainstream sports car sector as well as the motorsport arena," said Simon Dickens, Managing Director of SDR. "Our new concept was extremely well received by both the trade and public at last year's PistonHeads Show, and directly resulted in sales, which is why we are looking forward to the 2010 show, and the launch of our Subaru-powered car."

PistonHeads Show Director Ian France added: "The unveiling of SDR's new model at the PistonHeads Show is just one of a raft of exciting launches and events planned for January's show. It's the one-stop shop for everything the trackday motorist and performance car enthusiast could ever want."

SDR won't be the only sports car manufacturer at the show. Tifosi Sports Cars, Quantum Sports Cars and Spire Sports Cars will be displaying their competition models, while Adrenaline Motorsport will be showing its all-wheel-drive Murtaya roadster.
