VANQUISH

Tuesday 6th March

The Aston Martin Vanquish has won the prestigeous AutoWeek Editors Choice Award for the Best of Show. This category measures a vehicle's significance to the manufacturer, to the marketplace and as a 'segment-buster'.

"Clearly the Best in Show," said Dutch Mandel, editor and associate publisher of AutoWeek. "Its styling is stunning and brutish and elegant and passionate. All we can say is Wow!"

The award was presented at the Geneva Motor Show to Dr Ulrich Bez, CEO of Aston Martin, who said: "I am delighted for the Aston Martin Vanquish team that their hard work and efforts have been recognized."

WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE KIDDING MR BENZ?

Wednesday 28th February

Extensive market research and car clinics carried out by DaimlerChrysler revealed that future mini-MPV buyers are looking above all for a multifunctional vehicle that falls outside traditional categories. So Mercedes are giving us what looks to us like a hideous van with windows. It's big inside, it's got flexible seating and plenty of space for wheelbarrows, suitcases, pianos or whatever, but it's still ugly.

They've even called it the 'Vaneo'. I'll stick to my 'Car-eo' thanks...
