A system that uses GPS, a Palm Pilot and a database to warn your of speed trap locations. TrafCam is a program that runs on the Palm computing platform. Using GPS
satellite technology, TrafCam detects the drivers position and direction of
travel, and compares it to a database storing the location of speed cameras,
including fixed cameras ("Gatso"-style), SPECS distance cameras,
Truvelo semi-temporary cameras and frequent mobile traps.
When a speed camera is found within the user-selectable range, a visual and
audible warning is displayed, along with a distance 'countdown' to the location
of the camera. A picture shows the type of camera that the warning refers to,
and an extra musical tone means that you don't have to look at the screen.
