Aston Martin DB7 GT, Aston Martin Vanquish, Ferrari 360 Spider and Modena, Porsche GT3, GT2, C4S, Boxster, BMW M3, Mitsubishi EVO, Subaru WRX, Holden Monaro, Holden Ute, Alfa 156 GTA, Nissan Skyline, PRB Clubman….
The above paragraph is one of the reasons I love the drive days!! What a fantastic array of cars not only to see and appreciate close up, but to hear and watch being driven unleashed around the track. It truly is a car lover’s paradise!
The other reason I love the drive days, of course, is the fantastic mix of people and personalities at the day. There is always a laugh to be had and the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable. It really is good fun!
Aston Martin where the proud supporters of their first Burrows Drive Day providing the only DB7 GT in Australia for us all to drool over! It was the perfect setting; the DB7 was parked next to the Illy Espresso machine so you could have an amazing cup of coffee while looking over the car and chat to the guys about what Aston has coming to Australia soon. All rather civilized, old chap. What!
It certainly was a full day with half the drivers group made up of new Burrows Day converts. It’s great to see more new drivers coming to the circuit and experiencing the enjoyment of their cars in a safe environment, while learning more about car control and balance.
The other half – the regulars – were there lapping the circuit very confidently. I’m glad to say that many of the regulars have improved so much that I’m putting in a call to Mr. Stoddart at Minardi as I’m sure I’ve found some new talent. The fact that we’re too old, tired and disinterested should not get in the way of a new F1 career, as I’m sure you will all agree…!
Many thanks to the instructors on the day, Mark, James, Mike, John and VJ for helping the drivers with their lines and keeping everyone under control!
Photos as per usual from James at JPM and Jules at Cybernoir can be found at www.jpmphoto.com.au

under parc ferme (if Jules’ shots aren’t on my site yet, check back each day).
The next Burrows Drive Day is scheduled for Wednesday 23rd June and is being supported by Bentley with their Continental GT which should be very…interesting!
