There's a new track day club in town. Lotus-on-Track is a new club aimed at for Lotus enthusiasts and set up by a group of Lotus owners with the aim of providing safe, affordable and sociable track days for Lotus enthusiasts at major UK and European circuits.
The founding members have considerable experience in this field, having already organised in excess of 200 events over the last five years within the Lotus community including over 30 track days for SELOC - the Lotus Enthusiasts Club - in the last two years alone.
The organisation says it's a non-profit-making club so that members get the best possible value from their track days, with members taking an active role in the club to ensure they get the events they want.
According to the club's official inaugural statement, "ownership of a Lotus is not vital, but being an enthusiast for the marque most definitely is. We believe that a mixture of sports cars on track makes for a more enjoyable and diverse day so welcome other owners of two-seater sports cars who have an interest in the Lotus marque or who have friends who are already members."
The club has already booked exclusive events at Goodwood, Brands and Bedford Autodrome, with other major UK and European circuits expected to follow in 2005. It also has a range of benefits available to all members such as training sessions fixed at £10 per session, free track day support provided by Sinclaires of London and discounted channel crossings for European trips.
Membership of the club costs £30 for the first year. More information can be found at www.lotus-on-track.com.
