TVR enthusiasts have organised a party for the company's workers -- and, following the record-breaking TVR Thunder rally in London last November, this could be the last opportunity for TVR enthusiasts and those who work -- or, rather, worked -- at the Blackpool factory to get together.

The party, dubbed ThunderBall, will include buffet dinner, bar, live band and disco. Other surprises for the evening are still being planned.

How and why

TVR Thunder raised over £7,500 for the benefit of the workers and, in consultation with them, the rally's organisers decided to spend it on throwing a humungous party for them.

TVR's workers and their partners have all been invited at no charge, and their tickets are being paid for out of the donations from the rally.

Organiser David Hughes said: "ThunderBall is likely to be the last time ever that the workforce all get together as one group, and will be an emotional and memorable party. Table plans will be arranged to ensure that there will be a good mix of workers and enthusiasts during dinner, which is an ideal opportunity for you to meet with them and have a chat, a bite to eat, a pint and a dance.

"The workers are absolutely thrilled at the prospect of 'one final TVR fling', and are extremely keen to meet as many of you as possible to thank you all, in person, for the fantastic moral support that you have provided them over the past year, as well as the generous financial contributions that you have made, without which ThunderBall would not be possible."

The party's on Saturday 10 Feb 2007 at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool.

There will be a TVR car parade through Blackpool the following day, as well as several convoys travelling from all corners of the country.

You don’t have to own a TVR to participate, just caring about the workers is sufficient. Don’t miss out on this one, final opportunity. Tickets are limited, and cost £35 per head.
