recommend a body repair shop in the SE
Discussion
Hey folks, for the non-full bodyshop option for dent repair (ie, no repaint needed), I recently used Ryan Shakespeare from Fixadent (www.fixadent.co.uk)
Excellent service, proper gentleman, thoroughly impressed. I selected Ryan for a tricky couple of dents on my BMW z3 m coupe - a rare enough beast these days. Crease in the door and a punched dent in the rear quarter courtesy of a motorbike foot peg. Ryan was honest in his appraisal, suggested my optimism should be tempered with his caution. I waited nervously however the impressive results are testimony to his skill.
It actually seems quite strange to need to complement someone on being honest, fair, reasonable and attentive. However, in this day and age, especially in London, the above are rare enough. I'm based in SE1 London and he came to my gaff no bother after giving a late night quote on Saturday evening.
Originally recommended via a forum member on Pistonheads - a fussy enough bunch of people - so I hoped I was in safe hands. Very pleased. Cheers

Grimshaw and Wake in Hampton
http://www.grimshawandwake.co.uk/
The owner, John Wake, has been restoring classics and building kit cars for years, a real enthusiast with an eye for detail.
They're just as good on modern stuff too.
First and foremost body repair and paintwork but also mechanics.
Can't recommend them enough

Old thread but I hope someone can confirm which body repair shop is the "best" these days (I have checked and some recommended here are now closed).
My new BMW 4 GC has been already scratched (I got it not even 2 months ago...): front bumper, left corner - hit and run .
I am looking for a "perfect" car repair in SE London.
I hope this damage can be sorted with a smart repair: not really to save money (the insurance will pay) but just because I don't like the idea of adding layers and layers of paint on a new car.
Any suggestion?

Anyone got updated recommendations for bodywork/spraying an E39 M5? a lot of these seem to no longer exist.
http://www.canadacoachworks.co.uk/ in Byfleet did my E39 recently and happy with the results.I used Chappell Coachworks near Brands Hatch a few years ago on my TVR for a rear end respray - there were defects in the paint first time out, but to their credit they sorted it out and it looked amazing. Good match on the paint too, despite nobody knowing what the original colour was! Sold the car shortly afterwards so not sure how well it lasted.
Also used Revamp Autoworks & Customs in Orpington after somebody backed into Mrs.NCoT's Mazda CX-5 - they did a great job straightening out the door and the paint matched really well (notoriously difficult with Soul Red). They do all the repairs for the Mazda dealer next door. I've seen lots of local recommendations too.
I have also heard good things about Perfect Paint in Dartford, but no personal experience.
