After looking to find out what the low flying helicopter was that came over this morning,

Just heard that a passenger has been killed and other injured on a London - Singapore flight that hit turbulence. Absolutely tragic.

From the BBC -

"Once it settled Andrew says he was able to help one lady "screaming in agony" who had a "gash on her head".

Andrew says passengers are being kept in a special part of the airport in Bangkok.

"I will get on another flight, these are very rare occurrences," he says."

Well done Andrew - absolutely awful and I'm sorry this has happened to them. But still keeping it in perspective.

L-39 is the Albatross.

L-159 is ALCA.

Which still doesn't explain why is says Honey Badger there..... scratchchin

The 2 seat L-159B is the Albatross 2 in some markets, but, yep, no Honey Badgers

I once made the schoolboy error of posting about what I thought I saw was an FRA Falcon 20 and a pair of L-139 Albatros just off the north coast.

I received a lecturette that began "Points of order" correcting my mistakes!

For free as well.

Just had this 767 tanker fly straight over our house at 2500ft on an unusual routing. Very odd for a Sunday morning.

There is also a KC135 up as well in the vicinity, which is very odd for a Sunday.

They seem to be heading towards France: practicing for D Day flypast? There are also a load of USAF C-130s up and about, maybe parachute drop rehearsal too?

That’s been flying the last few days though. Strange routes.

Last year we spent the week in Normandy (and soon we will again!) where we spent quite a bit of time on the beaches (including a DC3 flight) and we were forever being buzzed by C130s. I as I understand it USAF put these flypasts on non-stop for the week every year.

Yes both of the USAF tankers visited the Normandy beaches.

Edit: the 767 has just been over our house at 3000ft again. This time I was out in the car. Quite a sight.

Strongly noisy this morning on south Camb's.

K35R followed by a 767-200 both out of Mildenhall, what's not shown are the two F15's out of Lakenheath doing a bit of loud movements around them.

All passing/banking overhead under 1,500ft before climbing out slightly. Looks like a flypast over the American cemetery at Madingley.
