JD - once a critic and now an adherent to the cult.

A shame and very sad. Fascinating to watch once competent people become fanatical (even if only outwardly).

Perhaps, more so then. i.e. he has become completely duplicitous so that the 'fanbase' likes him, whether JD actually believes this entirely himself.

Both rallies yesterday, trump was slurring, mis pronouncing words, and was blaming the teleprompter for blowing in the wind, the man who claimed he didn't need them like Biden did...

In fact in Rally 1 he was atacking Biden for using one the day before, just before it started blowing around in the wind, "'Isn't it nice to have a president who doesn't need a teleprompter?'
Rally 2- Stops speech to adjust teleprompter, says his had gone 'gonzo'.

The judge who recommended John Eastman’s disbarment *denies* his urgent request to delay her ruling, which resulted in his automatic suspension from practicing law. She cites the gravity of his misconduct and his refusal to acknowledge any wrongdoing.

The judge’s order could force Eastman out of several ongoing cases, including a California lawsuit brought by MTG and Matt Gaetz. It also deprives Eastman of a key income source as he fights criminal cases in two states.

Vance: I think the biggest threat to American democracy is the Biden administration is trying to prevent Donald Trump from campaigning

Collins: The Biden Administration is not preventing Donald Trump from campaigning. He just did two events tonight.

Host committee members are being asked to contribute or raise $250,000 per couple. For attendees, the amounts are $100,000 per couple or $50,000 per person. All funds will go to trump to py his legal bills...

Conservative judge thinks SCOTUS will fudge the immunity ruling and have the lower courts decide what is/isn't a presidential act https://www.rawstory.com/trump-supreme-court-26681...

Which is pretty much what we've been thinking here for a while. He's careful not to criticise SCOUTS but clearly thinks the entire case is ridiculous

Which would be yet another example (I'm thinking of Roe v Wade) of Trump leaving the US worse than he found it.

If this happens I wonder if SCOTUS loose the ability to rule on/overturn an appeal if a lower court decides immunity isn't applicable and a prosecution can take place?

I can't imagine that would be the case - it is what it is, the Trump Court of final appeal which will rule on the rulings of other courts.

It’s perfect for Trump. In all his cases he claims immunity. A lower court agrees and he’s off Scot free. A lower court disagrees, he appeals it to SCOTUS and they rule in his favour.

Any Democrat claiming immunity loses automatically too in a reverse situation of decisions / appeals.

Far from an expert here, but I thought that unless there is a list or some declaration (however vague) of what is or isn't a presidential act in the constitution (no idea if there is or not) then SCOTUS would probably deny a hearing of "Is <specific act> subject to immunirty?"

Possibly going to happen after Marge failed to get any support for it this week. She's determined to die on this hill, even trump has told her to pack it in.
Democrats are going to support Johnson so even if she does get more support (only has 2 backing her motion right now) it'll still fail.
The impression I get it even Republicans are sick of her and quite happy if she ends her career with this.
