You've just described a ball.
Might work on Harry Potter but not so useful for muggles.

Good point, well made laugh

A magnetic ball and socket connector would be great though.

When I've origamied myself under my home office desk in the dark trying to fit yet another usb into the back of my gaming PC, a system that allowed me to get vaguely close, before snatching it into a spare socket, would be perfect.

Rule 1 of USB - if you blindly fit a USB cable into the back of you PC and it went in first time you have stuck it in the ethernet port.

One of my older work colleagues destroyed every USB port on his laptop via the medium of a Kensington lock.

I can't even get a USB-C in first time. frown

The ham is melting, the turkey is suspended in mid-air, and the salami is hatching from its own egg.....
