A proper oil change requires grovelling under the car to remove plug and drain old oil. If 8 months preggo this is not recommended even if actually possible.

You'd also need a jack and axle stands or ramps – worth having if you'll make a habit of working on your car, but the up-front cost means you won't save money on a single oil change.

Depends on the car.

I didn't see the OP however some cars can have the oil changed from topside, using a Pela. Many (if not all) Mercedes and BMW models for instance.

I think the cost of that would probably mean it's no cheaper than getting it done by a garage. Definitely worth it when heavily pregnant!

It was a 1.7 Astra D, 2013 IIRC.
And it doubtless needs much more than just an oil change; the message prompting an 'oil change' is misleading in its brevity, it's indicating that it's time for its annual service.
