I'm pleasantly surprised by Rosberg's commentary.

Although he's clearly a very affable guy, I've found him hard to like due to his cheesy, somewhat Tigger-ish personality. However, in the commentary box he's been a breath of fresh air.
Agreed, his insight of the team and Lewis, plus the fact that he has driven a current era cars in anger makes his input something to relish.

And he avoids conjecture about anything that is going on.

He did keep having to bring the conversation back to the on track action.

I havet liked Rosberg much previously on Sky, but he came across well yesterday in the commentary box.

is the answer then to only have shouty crofty for the first 3 and the last 3 laps ?
let him do the predictable 'lights out' and 'takes the chequered flag', lets be honest a shaved monkey could do it.

For the other 90 minutes have commentators with race/technical/strategy knowledge ?

That’s why I think Brundle needs a driver-friend to talk to during the race, with Croft talking less.
But when you see the boxes the commentate from, there’s probably physical reasons they can’t wedge another person in there.

It’s ironic that Sky have a large presentation team, but when it boils down to the race, you are largely left with Brundle and Croft.

I have to mute the whole of the first lap, the last lap, and much in-between

The answer would appear to be replacing Croft with someone competent.

God during FP2 he was awful. Never shut up, interrupted when anybody else (especially Nico) were saying anything sensible and must be being paid by the word as he never knows when to keep quiet even for a few seconds. I guess it boils down to do Sky want shouty commentary or people who know what they are talking about.

I hadn't really noticed before although playing 'Martin Brundle Bingo' was a tad annoying...

..and today.. straight after they replayed Toto's announcement re his future - Crofty takes the conversation straight to Barcelona's football team result as a 'comparison'?! wft...

He's still not as annoying as the adverts SKY are currently using during their coverage though!

fking idiots keep going on about minimum lap times.

Ocon crashes after he let's kmag past who is on a TIMED LAP.

Croft and Chandok bleating that a minimum lap time would have avoided that accident.

s gonna watch quali on mute.

Hilarious hearing Nico Rosberg putting Croft straight in the commentary. He wasn't putting up with any of his nonsense talk.

Absolute commentary gold! Thoroughly enjoyed it.

However, Tom Gaymor who is commentating on the WEC race happening right now in Spa is even more annoying. He says “Errrrrr” after every 2 or 3 words banghead

Croft seems to settle on one subject (tyres/slow laps etc) and NEVER shut up about it. Give it a rest and move on for God's sake. I expect to hear more about the Barcelona result during qualifying!

Mercs miles infront. Bottas doesn't beat Hamilton and the croft shouting oh lewis might have pole unless someone can pull out a lap from behind. Yeah they're going to find a second are they idiot.
