You sound like my missus! You could strap a jet engine to the roof of it...and she'd still think it was ste! She hated me having mine for sure, but I was a fan of it though to be fair.

Im obviously the odd one out as I think it looks great, I like the modern looking interior too, we will probably get one of these to replace my wife’s current Mini when the PCP id up.

It looks very nice and I love the colour. I’m sure the wife would love one. However for the replacement of her current Mini, I’m trying to steer her in the direction of a Polo GTI.

Wish I’d never sold my r53 now I had back in the day, that really was a cracking little car.
Caned it regularly, it seemed to love it and asked for nothing more than 1tr of oil every 1,000 miles hehe

The front end is just about ok, the rear just doesn’t match anything else. It’s like two designers started at each end and met in the middle.

Not a fan of the rear lights. Just not very mini like. Front bumper is a bit bland too. Otherwise pretty much as you'd expect.

I have to say they've done a very good job of reskinning the F56 platform to look like the new shape. Didn't realise until some of the earlier comments pointed it out.

They had the new EV one on display in the departures lounge of Munich airport when I went through there in September, and I have to say it's a really good bit of design in the metal- but I don't think an F56 with the same face and taillights is quite going to be as attractive. Will probably fool a lot of people into thinking it's the 'all-new' model though.

They nailed it with the R50/R53/R56. Lost the plot with the F56 and this abomination can only be described as 'Stretched, like butter scraped over too much bread' Time to hang up the gloves MINI or go completely back to the drawing board.
F56 is my favourite shape although I am biased. This? Not for me. Its like when Saab lost their Saabness!

On the lack of visual appeal alone this model update is a pass. R53/R56 have a better design and overall proportions, even the stretched out F56 looks better than the new car. BMW design team creates another lemon!

Prior model was 187 hp for Cooper S if memory serves, the 192 hp was the pre LCI cars.
Looks like an Ora Funky Cat, because it is one, developed in conjunction with Ora…

So many on the Mini forums say they will abandon Mini for their next car on looks of this, not sure what they think will replace it though…
Pre LCI R56 Cooper S (N14 engine) was 174 hp. LCI (N18 Engine) was 184hp.

R56 JCW with the N14 and N18 were 211hp.

Last generation was the F56, which had the B48 4 pot and had the outputs I listed 🤓. Output dropped for the LCI F56 S because of GPF gubbins.

The front looks like something Jeremy Wade would catch.
The rear looks like a photoshopped Seat/Skoda.
The interior looks like a toddler's ride at EuroDisney.

Nailed it.

IMO the redundant bonnet scoop was a silly conceit.

This latest iteration of the Cooper S looks cool, although a bit lacking in character. No visible exhaust? Maybe cost-saving but a bit daft. The interior? Gone the way of the world, sadly. Sigh...

Oh dear!
Anything that is remotely connected to something called a "funky cat" should not be taken seriously!

I thought the EV 3 door was Funky Cat based and this was a reskin of the F56?

"There isn’t much to separate petrol Cooper S from electric from a styling point of view".. except from the fact it's an entirely different car!

I've had an F56 (and an R55 and R58) and honestly, I think I'd go the whole hog with the new EV, or buy a used F56 with the scoop, exhausts etc.  Maybe because I've owned an F56, but this facelift doesn't look cohesive to the rest of the design.  It's not quite Ford Scorpio levels, but it doesn't quite "fit" to my eyes.

...and with ref to the earlier discussion on the most, ahem, unique Mini?  Probably the Coupe, but it was bloody great to drive!
