Perspective is a funny thing, I ran an ipace for 3 years / 25k miles, I'd say the opposite, the Etron is so much more luxurious, more room and feels more premium (it hasn'ty broken down yet either!). Two thing the IPACE was better at.. range and acceleration. The Audi beats it in all other departments for meI was sat there thinking - £40k for this thing?
One thing that annoys me about the e-tron is the behaviour when you’re at a standstill, especially on a hill and you lift off the brake but don’t press the accelerator.
I believe Tesla’s have 3 options in this regard:
1. Creep forward (like an ice automatic)
2. Do nothing (some ice cars call this hill/hold assist?)
3. Roll backwards (like an ice if you had the clutch to the floor)
The Audi appears to do number 3 and it seems so alien. Is there any way to get it to do no.1?

It should do number 2 as it has a hold assist function. Sounds like you have not enabled it.I believe Tesla’s have 3 options in this regard:

In mine, as soon as you come to a stop (keep the brake pressed for a second or two after you've stopped) and it'll engage the parking brake and hold you. Let your foot off the brake and it'll stay there even on a slope, then accelerate away and it automatically releases.

What has happened to the insurance on the Audi e-tron ?????
I paid £700 3 weeks ago (I don't have any no claims bonus).
My brother-in-law is thinking of buying one, so I thought I would run my details through CTM and Confused again. It has now gone up to nearly £3k, WTF?
How can they justify that hike in such a short period? I would not have bought one given that quote, I imagine this will put a lot of buyers off now if you have to add around £200 or more p.m. to their lease cost!

I just re-ran mine too, same price now as it was in December... £650, Oxfordshire, low crime areaI paid £700 3 weeks ago (I don't have any no claims bonus).

Had mine nearly 2 months now, all in all very happy. Just for reference, did a longer trip last night, 120 miles. Fully charged night before and returned home with 40 miles, so 160 range.
Light traffic, motorway speeds, 12 degrees. AC on, no heated seats.
I’m cool with that, hopefully eek a little more over summer.
I am having a few issues with octopus though in that it seems to be charging outside of their schedule at full price. Had some emails from them saying I needed to get a software update from Audi to enable smart charging again? (It worked fine until recently). Then another to say it was all sorted and was back to normal. But no matter what I do, it seems to start its charge at 10pm whereas it should start until 11:30 earliest. I have no timers set (as octopus recommend). Anyone in same boat?
Talking of boats, I’ve put it back in comfort (from dynamic) as the roads are nothing short of atrocious around here!

It seems above 10 degrees is the cut off for the big increase in range. My 50 is showing 170+ from a full charge now. Heater usually at 21-23 degrees, phone plugged in etc and in Efficiency mode.Light traffic, motorway speeds, 12 degrees. AC on, no heated seats.

With regards to octopus, are you taking the reading from your bill or your smart meter? When I was charging on the 3-pin plug, it would start charging immediately. My smart meter showed I'd spent £200 on electricity in the first week I spoke to Octopus and they said the smart meter isn't clever enough to take in to account the Intelligent rate. My bill shows it charges at 7.5p unless I manually force a charge. It's not a fixed tariff in terms of time either. It will start charging when the demand is low on the grid, so 10pm is probably when this is anyway.
I'm checking this month exactly how much it's costing to run. So far I've done 700 miles and its cost me £26.99, just under 4p/mile. All charging at home with Octopus Intelligent tariff.
Thanks feedback, yes understand about the meter, I’m using the bills. It all worked fine and I could see the mapped smart charge, but now it shows the mapped charge, but still just starts the charge at 10pm and my bills broken down show this at higher rate. They seem pretty good (until now) about it and I’ve raised a few times so hopefully will sort.
Similar to you, I was about £30 for 900 miles.
I momentarily saw 3.0 on the mi/kwh guessometer the other day.
Not as fun as the exhaust pops and bangs on the overrun of the cooper S but us EV drivers get our kicks in different ways now

It’s also noticeable in reverse. My driveway is very level, with a slight slope down towards the house, however when reversing onto the driveway the car will not move backwards without pressure on the accelerator.
It’s a really minor niggle in the grand scheme of things, I just can’t figure out why it doesn’t behave like an ICE automatic in this scenario which would creep.

Are you on intelligent Octopus Go? (Assuming you are since you mentioned 11:30 start) the whole point is they schedule the charge to suit overall demand on the grid. You still get the cheap rate, even if it charges outside the 11:30-05:30 window. However I firmly believe this is a nonsense, as any time I plug the car in with a very low battery it schedules a charge which starts almost immediately. So they’re obviously prioritising vehicle SOC charge over whatever is best for the grid. Will be interesting to see how this behaves once more people are on the scheme.
Although recently I’ve been having a lot of issues with Octopus, so I’ve had to resort to a manual charge schedule through the Zappi.

Did someone on here mention they had a clicking noise rectified under warranty on their E-tron? I'm sure someone mentioned they'd had it looked at it was the CV joint related, but I can't find it in the thread now
When I reverse on full lock there is a clicking noise from the front wheel's. Wondering if it's worth booking it in with Audi or not as it's still under warranty anyway.

I had a creaking on full lock. Spoke to the mechanic and he said TADTS esp when cold and i noticed 1st time for ages this AM as missus left at a chilly 3c.When I reverse on full lock there is a clicking noise from the front wheel's. Wondering if it's worth booking it in with Audi or not as it's still under warranty anyway.
I also had them look at "clicking" in the cabin related to the heating/pump going off and on. Thats come back even though he said it was fixed, the had a audi notice for this so be going back as it annoys the hell out of me in town traffic

It's booked in with Audi to be looked at, but they'll probably give the old "they all do that". My confidence in Audi main dealers after recent experiences isn't very high

Some would choose a new EV for the same price as a not so great used Audi.
That’s why the Audi is cheap.
