How do I get the best sim only deal?

I'm out of contract for my EE sim for some time, so I was looking at negotiating a new contract for a better deal. All I've had so far is the usual offers which anyone can get, nothing notable. I've requested a PAC code to make it seem like I'm leaving. What sort of timeframe (if at all) should I expect a call from EE retentions department to beg for my custom?
Anything from an hour to never.
Just get a 1p Mobile contract. Uses the full EE network, roaming included and I can't tell any difference.
Monthly cost of £10 gets me 25GB and unlimited calls etc, no contract. Also includes WiFi calling which some of the secondary seller's dont.

I've just left 02 after 20 years. I called 2 weeks ago to ask for a better deal and got nowhere for the first time in my contract so ordered a PAC via text and went elsewhere. Got disconnected from 02 yesterday and number transferred over to the new provider. I think, given that you don't even have to cancel your existing contract now, it does it automatically when the PAC is activated means contact from your current provider might be nil! When I requested the PAC via text, they even tell you now how much it will cost to leave etc which is a new thing from OFCOM so from my experience with 02 I wouldn't necessarily expect retentions contact from EE.

Maybe little difference between o2, vodafone and EE. But Three are pretty terrible compared to those i've found, but they're vastly cheaper so I guess its just a case of getting what you pay for...There's very little difference between any network these days in terms of coverage.
And don't forget a number of networks are EE in disguise

I just moved from contract VF to ID Mobile ... £58 a month down to £7 a month on ID with 25GB data. So far have noticed no real world difference in using mobile data. I put my son on ID Mobile a year ago and he watches YouTube etc all the time using data and has never had any glitching or issues so I felt comfortable moving to ID.
Seems a bizarre thing to stick to EE and reduce your options down in what is a competitive market. Yes the cheaper ones piggy back other networks, but in the real world usage stakes, would you even notice?

Round here EE and Vodafone are pretty terrible compared to those I've found, but they're vastly more expensive, so I guess its just a case of getting what you don't have to pay for..In my case ID mobile, 100GB for £10 on a 1 months rolling contract.

Its a good point on the contract, mine is also one month rolling so can jump out of it with very little or no cost at any point. Was part of the decision process for me, give it a go, if I dont like it, can just change.In my case ID mobile, 100GB for £10 on a 1 months rolling contract.
