Why don’t you just accept you’ve been active on the Rayner thread?
Why did you call me Poppet?
Why don’t you apply the same degree of critical thinking to Angela?
I have - there's evidence freely available for why Rayner should be investigated across multiple fronts. Why did you call me Poppet?

I can see the claims made about Teeside, but there's been an investigation. You're making assertions about flaws in that investigation, but why isn't freely available.
So I asked what the detail was.
You then decided to go off about Rayner or why I post on that thread. You've still not given any detail, merely assertions.

Rumours that Khan might have lost London.
This changes things if true My anecdotal observation was that Susan Hall seemed to have a lot of grassroots working class support - taxi drivers, tradespeople etc. Maybe that got underestimated in the various surveys.
But it could also be that Khan wins easily and this is just the media trying to create some clickbait drama...
On the Tees Mayor, I know Houchen has been campaigning with a very muted conversation on the national party. His focus has been on the airport, bringing jobs back to the area, bringing investment in and while there are BIG questions over the sale of the SSi site and who is paying for it, it seems voters have seen that the airport has been a relative success while the Labour candidate actually supported housing on the airport site whilst under Peel ownership. Teesside Airport has proved an emotive issue but a clear vote winner for Houchen.
As far as the Tories getting back in in Teesside, I strongly suspect we will see most if not all Tory seats fall to Labour. Reform will undoubtedly split the vote, particularly in Hartlepool but I think the red wall will return.

I’ve provided the details, offered you the facts around the sale of land and subsequent profits, 90% of which went to his friends and associates. Nothing illegal so far, but the juxtaposition with Rayner and press treatment is too obvious. Rayner has been investigated once, a second investigation was at the insistence of two Tory MP’s, one of whom managed to be waste police time with Currygate. It’s off topic, but the double standards applied by the press and people like you is laughable. I can see the claims made about Teeside, but there's been an investigation. Even when the Police said Starmer had done nothing wrong with his curry the likes of Sway were that desperate for it to be true that they calling the politics of the PCC into question and suggesting he might have influenced the investigation.
If only he'd had a tame senior civil servant tucked away behind the scenes, that would have made it slightly more credible. Though civil servants are impartial of course, lacking both friends and favours anywhere else. It looks very much as though you think bodies in officialdumb are scrupulously apolitical...that's beyond parody, so surely the 'nothing to see, move along' play at the man not the ball here ^ is campaign tactics rather than naiveté.turbobloke said:

I've no idea what any of what word salad means but it's all on the thread for anyone to see.bhstewie said:

Wait, is this the same poster who chucked ‘Dunning-Kruger’ around, like a first year student, then thought he’d wade into a debate about class sizes in schools and parents concerns….whilst having no children himself? Those Labour tinted spectacles must get annoying after a while, maybe that’s what’s clouding your self awareness History is needed here, not relating to Stewie playing the man not the ball as usual, but the assumption identified earlier.
The latest independent impartial and apolitical IPCC represents a further step in the supposed creation of an 'independent body' though as the doc linked below shows, the expression 'non-police body' may be more appropriate than 'independent' as the Home Secretary appoints a minimum of 10 members and is responsible for their remuneration as well as removal from office. That's the latest definition of independent, impartial and apolitical. It's not being raised (by me at this point) as in favour of one colur tie or another as both lots of incompetents can have their meddling fingers in the pie.
Lovin' the metoo cavalry charge, so many nerves touched for no reason

If you read it in the voice of Boycie from Only Fools and Horses it makes more sense
It’s the drawling condescension in the bizarre form of words that amuses me. He’s either stuck somewhere in Middle England or it’s a forced attempt at claiming some intellectual superiority, a tactic deployed by the odious Rees Mogg. I think he’s trying to say that Currygate was a cover up by the left leaning police and civil service, but that’s just a guess. carlo996 said:

I didn't suggest there were no concerns I suggested that I think some people only seem to voice those concerns when VAT on private schools comes up when there's bound to be other things that impact classroom sizes and when they've never seemed very vocal about things like teachers buying books and pencils out of their own money. If you don't think I'm allowed an opinion on it because I don't have kids fair enough I guess.
I also said I don't know why Labour are suggesting it and that I suspect it's a bit of "politics of envy" red meat for their more traditional voter base rather than something that necessarily makes sense.
I'm absolutely fine with people forming a view on which of us has what colour tinted spectacles.

The suggestion from Sway was that the PCC of whatever force was investigating Starmer for his curry needed to be looked into.
It's all there in black and white on the thread.
Very selective concerns about people using their influence as ever or just so badly wanted it to be true after all that noise about what Starmer had done.
Very bad for Sunak hasn't translated into ecstasy for Labour or relief for the LibDems. Polling expert Sir John Curtice, like the rest of us, doesn't know when the GE will be or what the result will look like. Even so, If only he could use more weasel words...may have, somewhat, most likely, only modest. Actually that's quite enough. The LDs are apparently down on last year, just a modest night not a fail. On the other hand he doesn't use weasel words with Sunak's mob, which is pure coincidence as elsewhere he's said that a Labour majority is by no means certain.

Sir John said:
There are though signs that Labour may have fallen back somewhat in places where many people identify as Muslim. This is most likely a reflection of their discontent with Labour’s stance on the war in Gaza. On average, the party’s support is down by eight points since last year in wards where more than 10% of people identify as Muslim.
The Liberal Democrats have, however, had only a modest night. While their support is up by two points on 2021, it seems to be a couple of points down on their performance last year.
There is little sign of the Liberal Democrats being able to persuade Labour supporters to make a tactical switch to them to help defeat the local Conservative incumbent. Securing such tactical support is a vital part of Sir Ed Davey’s general election strategy.
That's Sirred taking a leaf out of Starmer's book i.e. their policies are just like them, mostly unknown by voters, but they're Not The Tories. But obviously that had absolutely nothing to do with the outcome, no siree.
