As I understand it, the counting starts on Saturday....
It’s to do with Turnout. If it’s very low - which it looks like it is - Khan may well lose.
No chance.

Turnout was 40.5% which while slightly down on the previous mayoral election is near enough average to all previous elections which should mean that Khan will win (famous last words right there smile ).

Hall needed it to be mid 30s at most to really stand a chance but we shall see. Count ain’t in yet…

It's the outer boroughs that may swing the other way thanks to ulez isn't it?

Khan seems to have avoided the wider lack of turnout over Gaza.

Yep. Worth noting to non-Londoners that these declared boroughs are inner London and Khan ‘heartlands’ where he’d expected to do well.

Be interesting to see the turnout for outer boroughs with regards to ULEZ.

But how many people in those areas who bothered to go out and vote have a non compliant car? I cant seen it actually making much difference to the overall result.

Surely if the Tories were serious about the London mayor position then they'd find better or less divisive candidates.

Susan Hall, Zac Goldsmith and Shaun Bailey are Z list

It isn't really.

I'm not in London and I've no love for Khan but if you're the Conservatives and the best you can put up is Susan Hall you can't really complain if you lose.

I don't know what they were thinking.

I didn't suggest there were no concerns I suggested that I think some people only seem to voice those concerns when VAT on private schools comes up when there's bound to be other things that impact classroom sizes and when they've never seemed very vocal about things like teachers buying books and pencils out of their own money.

If you don't think I'm allowed an opinion on it because I don't have kids fair enough I guess.

I also said I don't know why Labour are suggesting it and that I suspect it's a bit of "politics of envy" red meat for their more traditional voter base rather than something that necessarily makes sense.

I'm absolutely fine with people forming a view on which of us has what colour tinted spectacles.
How many reverse gears do you have?

Less divisive than Khan? Is that possible?

Have you seen anything about Susan Hall? It's almost as if they literally couldn't find anyone and the last person to offer had a somewhat dodgy background and no political experience, but it was that or nothing.

Really pleased for Sadiq Khan. Looking like a decent victory and a great 3rd term as London Mayor. Fantastic.

Outer boroughs also backing Khan.
Ulez not a problem to him.

I’ve a home in Brum and have to say that Andy Street has been a decent mayor in my experience, he clearly distanced himself from the parliamentary party in his campaign (who with half a brain wouldn’t), but they’re saying it’s too close to call. I’d be very surprised if he loses and a little disappointed.
