It was for sale for ages, but agreed it's stunning inside and out.

Wasn't Jensen's house was it? Looks familiar from some pictures.

Thsts been up for sale for well over a year and reduced once too, but ive kept my eye on it as it sure is a fabulous property with a huge garage for added PH appeal.

I guess it hasnt sold as if anything its a little too far out from Harrogate / civilisation and possibly too big / expense of upkeep.

If you want a project and a lot of land in a really nice spot up north: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/147386384#/...

Lots of potential there. Would also require about the same spending on it, I reckon. Note that the floorplans and imagery are only about 1/4 of the buildings; so what state must the rest of it be in?!

It says detached so I doubt it. There is a lot more in the way of buildings than they are showing, yes could be a total disaster area!

Just means it's byres; the roof looks sound enough even though the ridges are a bit swaybacked away from the habitable section. There's a similar if less grand steading up the road from me, the whole lot has the roof fallen in through neglect and the separate farmhouse is following on behind.

A cracker in Lancashire

https://search.savills.com/property-detail/gbtersc... It’s actually to the west of the map pin, so not next to a caravan park!

It's South East of caravan park though, not West.

If you have $USD35m burning a hole in your back pocket, Henrik Fisker is flogging his house in LA: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1305-Collingwoo...

Purchased nearly three years ago for $USD21M: https://traded.co/deals/california/single-family-r...

I suppose they've gotta make as much money as they can with this house as they said if this current Fisker venture fails the power couple taking on Tesla are going to give up working..... https://www.forbesmiddleeast.com/industry/transpor...

Wow. The sort of thing I'd love to find in a couple of years time. Although looking at street view there appears to be a footpath sign at the entrance to the driveway. I wonder if that's a problem and you'll get hikers looking in your front windows?

It's an optional part of the Ayrshire Coastal Path, I dare say there will be a few bobblehats going by on a nice day but I doubt you'll be getting streams of rubberneckers except during Glasgow Fair.

Every time I've been up the hill behind Largs, it's always felt calming. The last time I was up that way was to go to the Crematorium. And even then it still felt settled.

Even during the Glasgow fair, I can't see that path being an issue. Glasgow fair = doon the watter, no up the hills biggrin

Forgive the Guardian link, but all 5 houses are wonderful in one way or another. Although all 5 have shortcomings too!

https://www.theguardian.com/money/gallery/2024/may...

Long story short; I want a house on the coast.

Love the design of the house, cantilever, big garage, views over the golf course etc....

However the location on the main road AND on top of the railway line leave somewhat to be desired.

I love that!

Less than enamoured with the location though.

The regulars will roll their eyes at this but - lots of scope for an indoor climbing wall!
