Imagine having the necessary to be able to race it cloud9

As an aside, it's the Peter Auto Spa Classic in a couple of weeks: https://www.peterauto.fr/en/events/spa-classic/

It's crazy that you can get to, stay and get in for three days of some incredible racing (the entry list is insane) for less than three days at the Revival. Obviously no warbirds or other side shows and I'm absolutely not saying that the Revival isn't one of the best events there is, more that a weekend away at Spa is such a bargain.

Has anyone here been? Some friends and I booked to do it a few years ago and it got cancelled due to global pandemic or some such. Might try and sort out a trip for next year

waveyyes Recommended. As Crook says, the array of cars involved is fantastic and access to just about everywhere is brilliant.

And then there's the beer and frites .... lick

I was in a hotel local to the circuit.

The visit was as part of a GRRC driving tour of historic GP circuits (Reims, Chimay, Spa, Nordschleife/Sudschleife). drivingbiggrin

You can book a gite close to the circuit for sensible money. I've done a few VW shows there and booked one

We’ve never been to the May one but have been to the Sept one twice. There’s lots of very well priced accommodation (self catering and hotels) a bus ride away.
We missed out on our favourite place but got an air bnb a few minutes from the circuit.

As an event the access is unparalleled- being invited into garages when T70s and Cobra Daytonas are being warmed up.

It’s essentially like any UK club event but with Goodwood Revival / Members Meeting cars and all for 43E!

I've now started the cat herding process of getting people to commit to going.

The first Silverstone classic I did was great for pit access, and really made the show a lot more enjoyable. The last time I went there was very little access at all

That trip was awesome… and one of the last things I did before leaving the UK for Spain.

Yup one of the best shows/race days I've been too. The second time I went it wasn't a patch on it sadly

Several times. But not since Covid.

I'm not sure of costs now but pre-Covid it was, pound for pound, the best event yoou could go to IMO. Amazing cars, amazing access around the tracks and pits. Showed F1 up for the joke that it has become.

Amazing atmosphere, possibly the best circuit in the World with some of the best cars in the World.

Plenty of decent places to stay nearby, even the hotels were well priced, but things get booked up early.

That last photo is fantastic Ferris.

One last thing I’ll add which is quite special, when the cars need to refuel during the longer races they have to go to the petrol station and fill them up themselves.

Just in case there was any more evidence needed.

Also I can’t take credit for the petrol station and Cobra at nigh shot - courtesy of both my brothers.

This has actually been really helpful, I’ve been so stacked with work recently that I was a bit blind to the trip and this has completely refreshed my enthusiasm smile
