330Hp, 620 litre boot and a drift mode. Not a lot to argue with there. Will be 50k+ though, current top spec is 48k without the fancy diff.

Have we all signed the petition to get the VZ5 (RS3 engine) version in the UK yet?

SEAT is all but dead, the brand is going to be killed off eventually.
SEAT grew sales globally by 24% in 2023 and by 58% in the UK, they are just two different brands from the same company within the VW group, both are growing.

Will Cupra sales overtake SEAT yes on current trends but you're not killing a brand that is growing and selling nearly 300k units a year, the two brand strategy has worked well.
I think SEAT is soon to be discontinued and the brand will continue solely as Cupra. Remember seeing it in the news not so long ago.

I personally think it looks pretty awful.

The most worrying thing for me, would be risking buying ANY Cupra, let alone this one.
The what car 2024 reliability survey based on customer input/reviews, placed Cupra in last place for reliability out of all 32 brands sold in the UK.
The bottom 5 places were :
28 - Land Rover
29 - Jaguar
30 - Vauxhall
31 - Alfa Romeo
32 - Cupra

Not a chance I would spend my hard earned on one, because they are not cheap cars !

Really want to like these. I wonder how interesting they are to drive? Seem very divisive on here. Also the pictures are too dark. Are they hiding something?

That’s interesting mine has needed nothing in 45k miles , wouldn’t get another though

Is it me or are ALL Cupras grey? Do they do any other colours? laugh
(Ok, black or white too!)

Someone else mentioned but they seem to be selling many of this generation of Leon compared to previous.

They've had quite a few problems with the infotainment stuff, I think that's the main issue.

Can’t make up my mind in the facelift as I just think it doesn’t look like a Cupra.

I’ll wait till I see one in the flesh before deciding.

Do think the Cupra Leon was a good looking car.

Exactly. I didn’t just make it up silly

But Wayne Griffiths disagrees.

Schäfer is the big big boss so you’d think his word would carry more weight, time will tell I suppose!!

How can they just steal the moniker "ST" from Ford and use it?
Because “ST” isn’t the trim level or model designation. It’s an abbreviation for “ Sportstourer” and signifies the fact this is an estate model. All Seat Leon/Cupra Leon’s have always used the ST abbreviation for the estate models, same as others use touring/wagen/shooting brake

I live out of Enterprise's fleet (thanks to the Civil Service's simply ingenious cost cutting measure of taking away lease cars and swapping to me hiring 8 different cars a month from Enterprise...), and both the Cupra Formentor and Cupra Leon Estate I've had have pretty much been the best 2 modern general car models I've driven by a decent margin, and I have pretty much driven everything under the £50k mark currently available at this point.

Think I prefered the previous styling to these facelifts, but if I ever go back to getting a company lease car they will absolutely be top of the pile. Neither would be my pick for a non-work fun car obviously, although if anyone ever started offering turn key DAZA/DNWA swapped Formentors I don't think I could resist.
