Nothing yet, I'm not in a rush. I need to get an electrician around to check my 3 pin socket 1st. Then it's a decision between petrol, plug in hybrid petrol or full on EV. The EVs that I like the idea of are all much more expensive than say a 330e, but the BMW will cost more money to run due to tax and servicing. I did run an insurance quote for a Jag Ipace and it was really expensive, a polestar was cheaper to insure and petrol hybrid cheaper still. So basically I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

The Lexus is a nice looking car, but I can't get on with CVT gearboxes. Also I would rather have something that can run on pure electric for my short journeys and I don't think these can.

They can for sure smile
Just an observation and nothing else. Seems like you’re hellbent on the 330e and want nothing else… then why ask?

How short are these journeys? Mixing up short/long journeys and extra oil changes works if we're talking a few miles - I have run many cars like this. OH's Yaris Hybrid is always having 12v battery problems - excellent fuel economy but the 12v doesn't get enough alternator charge (35Ah capacity doesn't help). I think a plug-in hybrid like the 330e makes sense (as I believe the 2V battery is also charged during battery charging).

Skoda Superb PHEV. Or the Audi PHEVs, like the A3.

I'm not hellbent on the 330e and the reason for asking is because I'm not. I've looked into various cars and to me the BMW seemed like a good choice, my original question was have I missed anything.

I will have a further look into the Lexus pure electric range, but I just can't get on with CVT gearboxes so probably not for me.

Ah that would make sense, I think the petrol tanks are also different to help with having fuel sitting in them for so long.

The journeys are sometimes as short as a couple of miles, sometimes 10 miles and sometimes at least 100 miles.
