When I was younger I used to change bikes often and was always looking to try different styles of bikes and riding. Now I've calmed down a bit and kept bikes for longer as they fit different requirements.

The longest owned bike would be my Harley V-Rod ive had for over 12 years. Its a fun bike to ride, Ive spent loads on it modifying/upgrading bits and was originally purchased whilst being in a wheelchair after an RTA to motivate me into getting fit enough to ride again, which it did smile

This thread just reminds me what a fickle person I am.

I don’t think I’ve owned anything for longer than 18 months! Too many nice bikes out there to try…

18 months for a Moto Guzzi from late 2021 to early 2023 was the longest. I generally keep cars or bikes a year or less. It's a short life after all, and I like changing regularly.

Yamaha XJ6 2013 to 2017
GSXR 600 2017 to 2018
BMW GSA 2021 to present

I'll keep the GS until I move and have a garage again. It will be replaced with most likely a newer GS.

Had my Gen 5 VFR for 8 years now since passing my test it just does everything i need it to do really well in that time there has been and gone,
600 Hornet
ZZR 1200
Burgman 400
Fazer 1000
3 Thundercats

Still got another Thundercat and a VFR 1200 looking for something else but honestly don't know what i want keep thinking MT10 or another FZS1000 but i prefer the older stuff (I think).

Had this over 10 years now (sold it once because I was skint….but got it back after a year as my wife is awesome and tracked it down to get it back for me).

Over 60k miles, crashed and written off once and worth next to nothing, but I absolutely love it.

I got my Italjet Dragster 180 in February 2000 and still have it. I don't intend selling it any time soon either.

This is the bike I’ve kept the longest. I’ve had it 6 years now and plan to keep it forever as it’s something I know I’ll regret selling as I’d never find one in such good condition.

I kept my SV650S for 17 years!

Just got a CB750 Hornet... To be fair I think I'll end up with a KTM 990 Superduke within a few years because the hornet isn't enough of an upgrade.
