The best hybrid Yaris you can afford.

Absolutely bulletproof and very cheap to maintain in the long term with the hybrid system removing many of the common maintenance/fail points of typical ICE cars - no clutch, no complicated autobox or dual clutch nonsense, no starter, no alternator, no timing belts, no turbo, no dual mass flywheel, no particulate filter, 10 year warranty too.

Easy to drive, really economical and hold their value well too.

Yes, I owned one of these myself for a year and it was great. High 50's mpg for me. Nippy to drive around town with the hybrid system.

Basically a lower powered Prius (was sold in other markets as the Prius C), so massively reliable with low running costs.

Both my wife and my mum have a Suzuki Swift 1.2 petrol (previous gen). Great little cars, quite nippy even on the motorway. Obviously fairly basic inside, but crazy reliable. In about 5 years the only failure was the battery! lol

Should I be concerned that one is an import? Does the warranty apply?
Oops, hadn't noticed it's an import. Get a UK sourced one.

That sounds disastrous - my MIL's 2014 hybrid Yaris hasn't even needed a bulb! Literally oil and filter changes, a set of wiper blades, set of front pads and some tyres.

Seriously though, Swifts are pretty decent too but no experience of the auto.

My mother has a smart forfour in the two tone orange and grey with an orange interior. She bloody loves the thing.

I really like the look of those, the old smart cars were actually pretty fun to drive.

They come with two engines: turbo or na. My mother has the turbo and it is surprisingly “nippy”!

Is it true that Yaris hybrid are not a target car for cat theft as the location is inaccessible?

Yes, that’s one of their great advantages compared to non hybrid Jazz before 2018 I believe.

The Yaris cat is in the engine bay, so no worries about theft. (Sadly that’s not the case with auris or Prius.)

Aygo, daughter has an auto. Bloody great to drive.
Test drove one of these, thought it was awful, like driving a tin can. Bought a Skoda Citigo, far superior, like a different class.

Yes, I had an aygo loan car once and it was awful, took a second or so to change gears as it was an automated manual rather than a normal auto. Pulling away it would rev high before slipping the clutch to get going.

Zero rear seat space with normal sized front passengers.
