The 'proper' greeting is "How do you do", to which the correct response is "How do you do".

People who call themselves Zander, or Xander.

They will be the first up against the wall and it will be a slow death.
How will you tell whether they are calling themselves that, or whether the name was bestowed upon them by their parents?
I won't be taking a chance on that.

For people not contacting other people, I think it works like this:

They have every intention of doing so, but they think "I will do that tomorrow when I have time". Then the next day, they think the same thing, and so on.

And then, as times goes on, it gets harder and harder, because you then start looking stupid for taking so long. And you don't want to look stupid, so you put it off. And then put it off again.

The longer you leave it, the harder it gets, to the point where you never will do it.

As it happens, I have something to Pit Pony: Last November I contacted someone on LinkedIn. I've not seen him for over years. We were in the 6th form together, and also at the same Poly (but for the first 2 years, neither of us knew that). Anyway, he had a new job, fairly close to where I live. So I sent him a message and suggested going for a scoop. Next day he replied, saying that would be a fantastic idea, but he's now away for work for 2 weeks, but when he comes back, we'll sort it out. About 4-5 weeks go by, nothing. I sent him an email (which I now have from his LinkedIn reply). Nothing. I know in the past he'd been very unwell, so I started wondering if he was unwell again. I then sent him a LinkedIn message in January, asking if he was ok. Next day he replies, saying there's nothing to worry about, only he's been very busy for work, but he'll email me over the weekend and we can sort it out. That's the last I've heard. I mean, no one is that busy.

He lied, he doesn'r really want to meet up again.

Payments that "will take 3-4 days to arrive in your account".

Yes, of course it will - if you don't actually make the payment for 3-4 days.

Shirley their parents will be up against the wall with them?

In fact, anybody who not just shortens but properly bastardises their first name should be executed slowly?

Then he would have simply ignored my initial contact.

I believe the correct response, if you sneeze, and someone says "Bless you", is actually not to say anything back to them.
Given that their soul has probably not been forcibly expelled from their body when they sneeze, nor have they been possessed by a demon, the correct response is to say nothing to them. If you are the one who sneezed, maybe say excuse me.

I was taught that it began in the Great Plague. Sneezing was a symptom of plague, so if you sneezed, people would say "God bless you"

I suspect they'd actually have said "Run away! Run away!", but primary school teachers know best. smile

I'd say the correct answer is "I am well, thanks".

To describe how you are (the word 'are' being a verb) requires an adverb, not an adjective. 'Good' is an adjective, 'well' is the adverbial form. However, if the question was "What are you?" rather than "How are you?", then 'Good' can be used as an answer, i.e. 'I am good, as opposed to evil'. The statement 'I am good' does not describe your state of wellbeing - the 'good' here is describing the noun (or to be precise in this case the pronoun) 'I'.
The correct answer would surely be "I'm very well, thank you. How are you?"
Maybe I'm alone in this but I hate being asked how I am.

Drivers who don't notice the lights have changed! Driving to my Doctors surgery earlier today, the journey has 6 sets of lights, one of which is a pedestrian crossing. I was behind a van that was behind some sort of Ford and we hit 4 out of the 6 sets as they changed to red. Annoying enough. The tt in the Ford sat at the first set, after it had changed back to green, for long enough for the van driver to give a quick toot on the horn. Next set on red, he, or she, sets off as it changed to green. Great. The next 2 sets, fkin red again, back to annoying. The tt in the Ford had to be reminded he, or she, could fking set off on green at both of them! If you're that fking unobservant dozy, hand in your fking licence you annoying , so the rest of us can get on with our fking lives!

Station ticket barriers (maybe they're different for various regions so maybe I'm just annoyed in my own region)
The way that when you scan your ticket barcode, the machine lets out a high pitched beep along with a red light, each and every single time I think there's an issue but no, a second or two later the barrier opens.
Why not make it a pleasant ding sound along with a green light ? scratchchin

Motorhomes and the utter morons that inhabit them. They seem unable to understand the basic common sense rules about using single track roads, I had a seven mile drive this morning, at twenty miles an hour, at the back of a queue of cars sat behind 2 giant white boxes driven by ignorant bds unable to understand the chaos they are causing. And this happens nearly every day. Half of them have hired them and have no idea how to drive such a big vehicle.

They seem to feel they are entitled to park wherever they like for the night and call it "Wild camping" or go on social media wanting "free places to park" while simultaneously claiming to be "supporting local communities".

The way they think it is ok to empty their toilet cassettes anywhere they feel like, to save having to pay at a site. Local toilets are blocked and closed again thanks to them, some even empty them into ditches. A friend stopped one emptying his toilet waste into a wheelie bin.

The fact that they all get in such a huff when it is pointed out the mess they are causing. Stay in a hotel you tight bds.

A sign defaced not that far from here because they objected to being asked not to park.
