Well this thing is certainly dividing opinions!I think it sounds great fun and if I lived somewhere like London with a gazillion pounds then I'd love one to potter around in on a sunny day. Objective value compared with other cars is largely irrelevant in that regard; people spend millions on paintings and you can't drive those at all.... It's a blend between transport, a toy and a work of art. Good work everyone at TLCC, I hope they sell well.
I think this is a fantastic thing, yes huge money, but having seen a video of their cars and read about them, I know them to be beautifully made, a lot of hours and skill goes into their build, so there is some justification there, I believe. A very niche market no doubt, especially in the UK, but are they road legal in Europe? I can imagine this doing well in Monaco, more opportunities to use it due to better weather, plenty of potential customers who would, I'd imagine, appreciate the novelty of driving around locally in one of these.
If you fancy the novelty of driving something that is reminiscent of a bygone era, open wheeled and just fun, and can afford it, then why not. Can't afford it? then maybe something like a Pembleton T24

could give you the same novelty and sense of occasion, I've seen a video review of these, and whilst not really comparable, it seemed to provide a similar experience, plus it makes a nice noise, I'd love one.

We even did some testing in Switzerland on motocross tyres in the snow and it was surprisingly good. Only downside was it was bloody freezing.

Whilst I personally don't care for the car itself as such I'm glad it exists and I'm even more glad its existence pisses off people like you particularly when Charles Royce, a far greater engineer than you will ever be, stated way back in 1900 that "The electric car is noiseless and clean. There is no smell or vibration; they should become very useful when charging stations can be arranged. This car represents the realization of that statement in the way he'd have imagined it at the time he was alive; I think therefore your opinion is actually an insult to the intelligence and prescience of his vision.
I don't mind EVs and have one myself as a daily, but I can't see past the fake "Blower". Ruins the whole thing for me. Same as the injection Bonnevilles with injectors styled to look like monobloc carbs and the new BSAs with their "pushrod tunnels". Just a bit too try hard uncanny valley.

If that's getting your goat, on an EV, 85% 1930s Bentley replica, then you might be focusing on a tree at the expense of the wood. The persistent mythos that surrounds the DNF-queen "blower" triggers my inner pseud rather more; I blame Rowan Atkinson...I quite like the overall idea, especially if someone (probably Chinese...) could produce modular base and offer various reto bodies (Gattaca-style) - if suitably cheap , they'd make fun things for holiday resort hire schemes and the like.

We have a ‘no fake’ rule at TLCC. If it’s there, it has to do something. So when it came to reinterpreting the car we decided the ‘Blower’ couldn’t just sit there, it had to be functional. Hence why we’re changed the Supercharger into the Charger. You twist off the end cap and that’s where the Type 2 charge point is, with the gubbins hidden in the casing. It seemed a fair compromise?
