Stuart Adamson/Big Country.

Never a fan of the bagpipe era, but loved the later 'rock' stuff.
And the 'different' stuff like this.
In fact, I far prefer this to the Beatles original, and not just because of the added talent on stage with BC.

I was listening to Ken Brue on Wednesday when he was doing his Quiz, a man on the other end of the phone said he was quite proficient with 1980's music (not his actual words) anyway, he was asked what was the name of Def leopards 1987 No1 Album. He didn't know the answer.

Off to see Meute later this year, so educating myself on their back catalogue

A brass band that play dance/funk tunes, but occasionally do some inspired covers

Like this version of Slip by Deadmau5

seen Meute twice and they put on a great show; really good fun and something completely different.

Currently Maiden’s Seventh Son, but am going to put Beth Gibbon’s first solo LP on as her second is due any day. A bit of contrast….

Listening to the great Roger McGuinn of the 60's band, the Byrds. Saw him in concert last night for the second time in the last 3 weeks. He is nearly 82 years old and still puts on a solo 3 hour show. His guitar skills are still magical, and after meeting his dear wife three weeks ago when we saw him in Saratoga, CA, his wife reached out to me and left us guest passes for last night's show in the Los Angeles area where we live. The bell chiming 12 string Rickenbacker is still his trademark though he played many selections with an acoustic 12 string and his unique 7 string acoustic as well as his 5 string banjo. The show is filled with storytelling of his time spent with the Limeliters, the Chad Mitchell Trio, the Byrds, Dylan, and Tom Petty. An intimate stroll through rock and roll history as spoken by one of the greats who led music of the 1960's
