The doctor in Call the Midwife???

Are you on hallucinogenics?
That is one of his brothers, Stephen.
It can be confusing, because there are five of them:

Paul, Stephen, Joe, Mark and Renault.

Does it have to be a man? If we’re going for full grant paying film ruining equality then it’s
Rosie Jones - obviously.
I am so going to hell for this but:

Bond [Rosie]: "You expect me to talk?"

Blofeld: "Yes, but we don't have time so I expect you to die"

I will get my coat getmecoat

Clive Owen.
Yeah this ^. I thought he was in line for it at one point (?) but didn’t want it.
The bloke cannot run - one of his legs cannot co-ordinate with the rest of his body - he'd need a running double for sure smile

Roger Moore had a stunt man to do his running because he ran like a girl, apparently.

'Book' Bond is quite a blunt instrument, for me Connery and Craig have been the best. Idris Elba could have played him several years ago.
+1 yes

You need a bit of class to be Bond.

Hardy, Theo etc, no way.

Hiddleston acted the part in The Night Manager.
Why...he's not described like that in the books. I seem to recall him being described as an amphetamine addicted thug.
I didn't say he needed to be a ponce, just have some class.

Edward Woodward or Michael Caine.

My choice is probably swayed by the excellent Callan and Harry Palmer !

I am loving some of the suggestions.

David Stockwell from Heartbeat, or Frank Spencer.
On a more sensible note - Idris Elba or Tom Hiddlestone.

Ronnie Pickering?

Or more sensibly, Patrick Bachau.

You’re all way off the mark, this is 2024 so for the new Bond he they have to be representative on a tiny minority of people or it’s racist or homophobic or some kind of phobic so I’m proposing an actor like Ncuti Gatwa. I’m also proposing a remake of Shaft with Robert Webb or maybe Simon Pegg in the titular role
Unfortunately I think you are right. The last bond film was to woke for me.
Yep, they just need to find a non-white actor called Roger Less and there's your next James Bond!
