Anyone see last nights Grand Design Australia ?

Small plot next to train track ….. I don’t want to include the spoiler.
But they showed great resilience.

Hats off to them.

Well it's back on the market again, down from the £10m of last year to just £5.25m now.

Includes the eye too. That’s a big price cut.

Also:

AGENTS NOTE: Savills are appointed on the instructions of Joint Receivers: H.Varsani & M.Yianni (Belleveue Mortlakes Chartered Surveyors & LPA Receivers).

A very sad story all in all.

Sounds intriguing - Do you have a series/episode number at all?

Seen it a few times, a sad ending.

The disaster episodes are the most memorable though!

Although had the project succeeded and he'd moved in, he'd have had to cope with those very narrow lanes around there which are a nightmare during tourist season. Drive 100yards forward and then reverse 200yards to let an oncoming car past. After half an hour your further back down the road than when you started. Unless you and the cars behind you outnumber those approaching you head on. It's a war of attrition!!

It is sad. But equally there’s just so much wrong with the project. The terrible driveways, the poor use of the site, the mis-match of styles. You knew it was going south the moment “The Eye” became the potential saviour of the project.

If he’d put up a steel-framed structure, he could have been up and running in a fraction of the time. The engineering and cost projections for the built house were simply astonishingly poor.

The current price may tempt somebody, and I can imagine it could be lovely to live in, but equally I suspect you’d be chasing snagging issues with it forever.

Perhaps he should have just built The Eye and left the original house as it was. That would have been grand enough on its own.
