Can anyone tell me where to go to avoid the car parking fee at Stansted please if I am being dropped off? I think there is a hotel nearby, or just use the mid term?

For the few times I’ve picked people up at Stansted I’ve sat in the McDonalds until it was time to pick them up.

Sure, but I am being dropped off at the airport or close enough to walk or is there a free mid term bus?

For future note if you go to McDonalds or Starbucks make sure you don't walk from one car park to the other to use the other outlet or you can be fined.

Free drop off in the mid-term carpark and then it's a free shuttle bus to the terminal. Takes about 15-20 minutes.

I normally take the £7.50 hit (for 15 minutes) and drop off / pick up from outside the terminal building. But if you want free, then as others have said, drop off just outside mid-stay and let them use the bus. They're usually fairly frequent.

Try the Radisson Blu, I've dropped the Wife off there before and haven't got a fine, and its a 2 min walk to the terminal, most of which is under cover.

Tripadvisor is saying that is no longer an option albeit 4 years ago, Parking Eye have the contract for parking. I will just head to mid term. Thanks everyone!

It's also free pick up as well. I think you can wait 40 minutes.

From the round above the A120 you can only go one way, on the next round about it's 3rd exit. Just take a ticket. Exit is free within the designated waiting time.

This. We did exactly that when I needed to drop someone off and pick them up a few days later.

Easy to use the drop off, took about 10 minutes in total. Free parking for an hour. The bus lane has some serious security to get into the terminal.
